From Savica to Batognica and back

On the eve of the full moon we set off to Komna in its glow, where we lay down to rest, as the next day a wonderful ski touring journey to Batognica and back awaited us. Conditions for walking/skiing were excellent in the morning, since the temperature was a few degrees below freezing at night, and on top a few cm of snow which fell the previous day. In the morning the snow was just right sun-softened, so we could advance quickly towards Vratca (Bogatinsko sedlo) and then continue with ski descent behind Lepoče towards Planina Duplje. After a snack we continued the path to Planina na Polju and through the basin in Lašte to the saddle, where the decision was made that for safety and frozen base we continue to Batognica, Krn we would just admire. Then ascent to the saddle, glance left to Vrh Nad Peski and we were already on Batognica. Descent to Planina na Polju was pure poetry, then crossing and ascent to Vratca, and descent to Komna in heavily sun-softened snow a real Calvary. Followed the "descent" towards Savica, we skied to 28th bend, continuation with skis on shoulders. LP Andrej
