Gamsova mati 2518

This weekend I got an invitation to visit Kugy's zoo, which I couldn't resist and I'm not sorry I went. On Sunday a little before eight we parked the car right before the bridge in Jezerska dolina. With heavy boots the start was already tough, since the path at the beginning is suitable for light sneakers. The weather looked excellent and soon we found ourselves before the snow under Corsi hut. First as a joke, then for real we headed directly up the gully towards the hut. Soon it turned out the thing wouldn't be easy, as spring had already done its bit, because on two-thirds of the gully there was 2m less snow and it slowed our progress. At the hut, where there's still huge amounts of snow (it tore off its chimney) we dawdle a bit and then continue on quite south-facing snow towards the gully right of our target. The steepness is monstrous and long. I think Jalovski and Rokavski ozebnik are gentler. The snow sinks in more and more and finally we are at the top. The whole day we met only a group of Italians who went on an easy tour. Since I know the western Julians poorly yet, I didn't equip some pictures with subtitles and would be grateful to a connoisseur if he names them.

I would just say that Igor Zlodej gave me a lot of useful tips. I wouldn't say he looks down on anyone, but he certainly knows the entire Julian Alps very well, he doesn't get involved where he's not most at home (KSA).

I don't know what happened, because I was in the mountains. But I say that the mountaineering map is still the tool by which you orient yourself also regarding neighboring mountains. This is basically the basis of mountaineering and right here there is a big lack in some, learning on the tour is given to some, but not to all. This is my opinion, it can be deleted too.

Miran and klm, thanks for the detailed description of the mountains across the border. I admit, I hadn't even heard of some mentioned. I decided to get to know at least one in detail each year. Ha, then there are another six or so on Montaž's side. So, until about 73...
Jedriličar, really a pity you weren't with us. It was real enjoyment.
