Today between 21.50 and 22.00 the global dimming action will take place.... Subject: Global dimming September 17, 2008 from 21.50 to 22.00 local time. We suggest turning off all lights and unplugging all electrical appliances, so our planet can "breathe". If we join the action en masse, we will save a huge amount of energy. Just ten minutes and we will see what happens. Let's be in the dark for 10 minutes, light a candle, simply stop and watch it, while our planet breathes. In unity there is strength and the internet has a very big influence, so something really big can happen. Forward the message. If you have friends abroad, send the news to them too. The message is also in other languages, but then the post would be a bit too long.....

I'm not doing this. The light will stay on.

This doesn't convince me either. This action makes some sense only if we see it as a sociological experiment.

Just then I'll probably still be studying, so it's off. People, these dimmings won't save the world. You need to work on this every day and all year. Turn off computers at night, lights on only in the room where you are, use energy-saving bulbs,... I for example never have the light on in the room in the evening, I use candles or screen light, this time I just have to study, no other way!

But it's ten minutes......the action that was in February last year brought pretty good results, then some European cities even turned off city lights.... Well it's each person's personal decision...but these ten minutes really aren't eternity!!! I at 21:50 pull everything from sockets, turn off lights, light a candle for myself......

I think this doesn't have much sense, as average households we are smaller energy consumers.... If they want to do something let them go after those who are really big energy consumers....various factories, public lighting,...but then let them reduce taxes for us by as much as the lower cost, not pocket it as always!!!!

Why bother with this here, if you like it do it that way, if not do otherwise! This forum is not meant to say what you will and won't do! It was a nice request Sebastjan

piko:" I think this doesn't have much sense, as we are average households, we are smaller energy consumers...." yes we are smaller consumers but there are quantitatively many more of us, so together we consume more energy than some big firm, think a bit drop by drop sea.....
