Golica (1836m) from Jesenice via Španov vrh

Few people today set out for a mountain summit from its foothills if a road connection to higher starting points is available. I made such an exception yesterday; I started in Jesenice and first climbed to Španov vrh past Skavarjev rovt and the Hut on Črni vrh. After descending to Križovec I continued via Pusti rovt to Suha saddle, from there along the ridge to the summit of Golica. I returned past the hut and along the Winter trail to the cargo cable car station. From there first down through the forest along Beli potok to the confluence and past the building at the end of the sled track to Planina pod Golico. To Prihodov, there I turned onto the Old mining path, there is indeed some asphalt, but it's not as bad as it looks from the car. The Old mining path is nice, but the bridges are slippery when wet. At the lower chapel I turned right and past the water intake got back to the main road somewhat above the Jesenice Health Center.

Nice circular tour if the weather doesn't allow anything higher. Track of the path and more at

I admire this joy of walking even if the weather is not nice. I also admire that someone goes to the mountains alone and knows how to enjoy it. This inspires me!

I often go from home via Jelenkamen either to Golica, Struško or Stol. These long hikes inspire me with special satisfaction. My longest so far: Završnica - Celovška koča - Geissberg - Stouhuette, Sedlo Seče - Pristava - Jesenice.
Edina, congratulations!

Ločanka, solo hiking undoubtedly has advantages but also some weak points, which however become fewer over the yearsnasmeh, otherwise I also like to show someone a lesser-known path. I really enjoy the mountains and never, even when something unpleasant happens to me, have I regretted going on the tour. Be well and best regards.

Heinz, I read most of your contributions. Not only do I get ideas, from the path descriptions I also get concrete information, I like them especially because it's clear from them that you love the mountains a lot and you and Reksij are a very recognizable mountain couplemežikanje. But just with your above-mentioned longest tour I got the idea to go from Završnica to Stouhuette and up the climbing path to Stol and back to the start, but when adding up the elevation it came out a bit too much for me...

You can go from Tinčkova hut via Zagon (or via Smokuška pl.) and Belščica saddle to Celovška hut and from there descend only to the start of the climbing path and climb it. You don't need to go to Stouhuette, which is much lower in the Bearentall valley. From Stol return to Kožne via the path between the two Stols, then back via Zagon or Smokuška planina to Zelenica to the starting point. Elevation gain adds up quite a bit due to 2x up and down, but if you take the whole day and start fairly early, it shouldn't be too bad..
The climbing path is varied and fairly demanding, I recommend belaying.
Thanks for the comment!
Best regards H!

Thanks also for this tip. Of course I haven't had the last word yet, maybe this year we'll still get a day with sun shining for ten hours without interruption. I know the climbing path on Stol, the challenge is actually the starting point in Završnica.
