Gora - St. Lawrence

On the return to Styria, still a quick detour to the Postojna area and ascent to Gora - St. Lawrence. Proper steepness mežikanje, rewarded with nice views from the top and it's over a thousand meters. Afternoon sun and dry path partly in the forest and on meadow. More in some photos...

Yesterday I set off from Gorenja to Gora (St. Lawrence). I ascended the summit via the marked path, which from the LD Bukovje hunting lodge onwards is relatively poorly trodden (most of the path is trail of just two predecessors).
From the top, from where there's a nice view towards Postojna basin, I descended to the nearby little church, then left into the forest, where I followed a relatively well-trodden "gentle path" by which I descended back to the hunting lodge. The descent path is longer, trodden mainly by hikers using snowshoes. Nice walking on the trail as snow didn't sink.

Best, Tadej

Yesterday I visited Gora - St. Lovrenc for the first time. Probably never would have been there if not for the route of yesterday's trail race with start and finish in Postojna going over Gora.
Weather almost ideal for running, views poorer due to some fog.
Oh, also: we ascended from Studena.

To Gora-St. Lovrenc one can also reach from a third approach which we discovered, the Thursday hikers - retired mountaineers PD Škofja Loka. We had as guide a mountain guide from the nearby club who knows the area well. And he had a birthday too.

It's an unmarked path starting off the asphalt deep in the Logaški forests passing the mightiest Logaška spruce. A little detour is needed of course. The path is partly pathless, partly trails barely visible. Marked with some green marks. We see them on tree trunks and rocks on the ground. They lead us to Požarjeva hut. From there red arrows appear leading right to the church St. Lovrenc. From there to the summit crowned with a large Slovenian flag. From the summit descend to the village Gorenje. This descent or approach I already know from three years ago. Together we walked about five hours. From Gorenje we drove to Hrušica to the inn Stara pošta. There one can see Roman remains from the first centuries AD.
The start was in the Logaški gozdovi forests near Hrušica.1
Actually, it was admiration of the Logaški gozdovi forests.2
The path leads to the most powerful Logaška spruce.3

This is that spruce - reportedly about 200 years old.5
We continued on abandoned footpaths, partly off-trail.6

We follow the abandoned footpaths using these green markers.8

We have arrived at Požarjeva koča.10
From here red arrows lead us to the chapel of Sv. Lovrenc.11
This is already a more recognizable sign.12

With daughter today afternoon "hopped" up.
Declared 1:05h, but actually 45min if you have some mountain fitnessnasmeh.
Path technically nothing special, but most of the time uphill, which is really super for building fitness! Top thing. Everything excellently marked, views really super! Worth the ascent! Then also hop "around the corner" to Predjamavelik nasmeh
