On Tuesday, 18.3.2014, we did a nice circular tour: Zagrad - Grmada - Pečovniška koča on Grmada - Celjska koča - Tolsti vrh (eastern path) - Celjska koča (via peaks) - Zagrad.

The weather was nice, we had a great time, we met quite a few hikers velik nasmeh
I recommend it also for a family outing mežikanje

Nice activity on a pleasant day...and thanks for the detailed route presentation in pictures. Personally I would descend via the ridge path continuing in the western variant to Celje...that's over Vipota. Interesting peak with solitary farmhouse on grassy clearing under the summit, maybe idea for mežikanje another time. Safe and bold step. Regards

Thanks for the advice. Next time I'll try this variant too mežikanje Definitely there are plenty of paths around here, so nice circular tours can be done velik nasmeh

On sunny Easter Monday we walked the path from Celje over Grmada, Pečovniška and Celjska koča, to Tolsti vrh. From there further to Svetinski dom and via Resevna down to Šentjur. About 6 hours of walking with breaks behind us nasmehmežikanje. We were rewarded with wonderful views over KSA. It would be a real shame to stay home.

Today from Pečovnik up the steep path to Grmada. Path is very slippery and muddy, so not suitable for descent. Grmada ridge is frozen. Continued to Pečovniška koča, then left towards Svetina and headed to Tolsti vrh. Towards the top it's already winter. Trees are dressed in rime. But there are still larches in golden colors. Descended via ski slope to Celjska koča and then back to start.

Škofja Loka retirees with the help of dedicated guides from PD Škofja Loka are discovering perhaps lesser-visited, maybe hidden corners of our homeland. Of course local hikers know them well. From Gorenjska we might not venture to these nice areas around Celje on our own. Within the association there are conditionally three groups of retirees-Mondayers, Tuesdayers and Mondayers. Last two groups lately trying to combine a bit and choose very easy hikes. Every tour guides prepare carefully. We go on reconnaissance, look for best access and descent. All tours of all groups are published in the annual program. Corona took almost three months from us when no one went anywhere. This Thursday the planned tour to Tolsti vrh above Celjska koča was carried out. Maybe this path we did is not described here-I don't know exactly. Anyway we started at gostišče Hochkraut, where there's large parking and had morning coffee there. Then over the bridge past the stinking sewage plant (sorry-really stinks) to the marked path to Tolsti vrh. Path is well marked -some places quite steep. This path also has Forest educational trail, and cycling part. We reach ski slope, past the abyss (marked as abyss to Celjska koča). Steepness doesn't ease up to the top of Tolsti vrh at 834 m. Right at the top there's fenced abyss. Follows steep descent, then continue on Barbarina path to village Svetina. Nice small village with two churches, where time stopped also for famous traveler Alma Karlin. On the village cemetery she rests with her friend. We learn she didn't live in the village but somewhere above in a small house anyway her biography is fascinating. Weather was nice, we had fun, as always.

Yesterday 30.1.22 I did the route parking Pečovnik by Savinja Grmada-Tolsti vrh-Suhi potok-Celjski grad descent via Pelikanova path. By road along track back to start. Weather excellent same path without issues except some icy patches on descent from Tolsti vrh and through Suhi potok.
