Dear all,
I wish to introduce you and the entire trekking world to a new trekking race.
The area of Grobnik Alps has long been explored by true nature lovers and those of you who haven't done it yet have the opportunity at the 1st Grobnik trekking in spring 2011.
The race itself will go through the most beautiful parts of Grobnik Alps, Ričina canyon, and if politics allows also one special surprise point.
Grobnik Alps stand out with many peaks over a thousand meters, Obruč 1377 m, Fratar 1353 m, Črni vrh 1335m, Grleš, Gornik, Suhi vrh, Osoje, Dnić, Vidalj, Ćunina glava, etc. The whole area abounds in natural beauties, among which there is also the untouched realm of nature, Pakleno valley - wild and hard-to-pass wooded hollow surrounded by the mentioned peaks, whose slopes to the valley are rocky, steep and broken, so the whole complex resembles a giant funnel. There is also the always unpredictable Mudne doli canyon.
The view from the peaks of Grobnik Alps to the south reaches over Grobnik town all the way to Dalmatian islands and Velebit, to the east to the peaks of Gorski Kotar, to the west to Kvarner bay and Učka and to the north to Julian Alps.
Ultra category awaits physically demanding trail, while hikers will enjoy walking and picking asparagus on marked hiking paths to Hahlić mountain hut. Sports category is of course a mix of ultra and hiking.
Don't miss the unique blend of Primorje with Gorski Kotar on the mythical area of Lijepa Naša - Grobnik.
And of course don't miss trying the far-famous palenta kompirica and grobnik cheese!
