On Saturday, Rok and I waited for the sunrise at the summit. We cycled to Johannishütte hut, then continued on foot to Defreggerhaus hut. After a short break, we climbed over Rainer Kees glacier to the summit. The views were exceptional; we could see part of our Julian Alps too. On the descent, we also summited the 3506 m high Hohes Aderl, then returned the same way to the starting point and cycled home. Hello, I'm interested if anyone is going to Grossvenediger this year? I'd join. Thanks in advance for any useful info. Uroš

Is some PD going up there or some larger group? Going alone just without a rope team is, in my opinion, very risky, especially that initial glacier part.... I'm attaching a photo from a few years ago...... If some group goes, I'd gladly join.... Uroš

My buddy and I are also interested if any group or PD plans to go to Großvenediger this August or September? As the previous poster mentioned, a solo ascent is relatively risky..

You're already three, just rent one more from GV and go.
