Hmmm, we're kinda embarrassed to admit that we only dusted off our touring skis mid-March, the dust that had been accumulating since the end of last touring ski season ...but we did it …and since the "pause" was loooong, for the start we looked for something easy but nice, mainly "from car to car"…without picking gentians, photographing adders and carrying skis …and we found all that above Mallnitz…The road to the upper parking below Jamnig Hütte is now passable, the parking lot already very full around 9 a.m. today - all Austrians except us …We actually aimed for Greilkopf, the peak right of Hagener Hütte, but strong wind "pinned" us a bit lower, to the hut… We skied right of the hut through the beautiful little valley, still sufficiently snow-covered for nice, continuous, enjoyable skiing all the way to the start… First time in this area and we'll definitely come back…. P.S. More detailed info on the tour in Peternel's guide "The Most Beautiful Touring Ski Tours of Austrian Carinthia"….

Great tour you two did. In summer, when the hut is open, I recommend from Jamnigalm to Feldseesharte 2714m, then along a slightly more demanding path (no exposure) , to Geiselkopf 2974m and down to Hagener hut. Nice circular route. http://www.bergfex.si/sommer/kaernten/wandern/5096/
