Heiligenblut-Grossglockner High Alpine Road

On Saturday 21.08.2010 we set off on a cycling weekend that started in Austria, in the village of Heiligenblut, followed by a 17 km ascent on the very famous, very popular Grossglockner High Alpine Road. Mecca mainly for motorcyclists, cyclists and plenty of cars too, as it looked like that day EVERYONE was right there . After covering the distance and about 1,100 m of elevation gain, you're rewarded at the top with fairy-tale views of the peak itself and surroundings of course. Weather a perfect 10... then descent and heading towards Italy for the next challenge
