During a visit to the Savinja Valley it's a shame to miss HELL CAVE and the FOREST EDUCATIONAL TRAIL. PD Šempeter has arranged a forest educational trail to Pogorišče at 460 meters above sea level, easy and interesting for children. In addition, HELL CAVE is worth seeing, over 3,500 years old. We saw bats and shrimps. Human and animal remains have been found in the cave. The waterfall and stalactites are especially interesting. At the entrance a devil awaits us, inside a frog and more... In winter smoke rises from the cave, the temperature in the cave is 10 degrees. The lady guide explained everything nicely to us. We even came from hell to heaven. We recommend the visit...

After many years again into the underground of the Ponikov karst in Styria. This is Pekel Cave, over 3 million years old. Only four km from Šempeter in the Savinja valley to it. It is one of the largest karst caves arranged for tourists in Styria. Right at the entrance into the cave, in the rocks with a little imagination we see a little devil. On cold winter days smoke rose from the cave and that's how the name of the cave originated. The cave also has the highest underground waterfall and wonderful stalactites. The path through the cave is wonderfully laid out. To exit the cave we climb numerous stairs. A guide leads you through the cave. We divided into two groups.
