Dear, I have one photograph taken before WW2. Soldiers mountaineers of the Kingdom of Yugoslavia on it. Triglav in the background. I'm interested in which hill the photo was taken on (I think Ablanca). Every comment is welcome. Thanks! Best regards, Ozren PS. I don't know if I can post the picture on your forum. In case I fail to post the photo my mail is : ozren-stanfel@net.hr

Great photo! Not Ablanca, from there the view on Triglav is not so open because Tosc is in between. Probably somewhere above that part of the path towards Vodnikov dom, where the path turns around Tosc and such a view opens: https://www.hribi.net/slika.asp?pot=88295

This view of Triglav opens on the path to Vodnikov dom; further from the junction to Velo polje.

On the lower picture there is a very similar view. Just, I feel that they were photographed a bit further and a bit higher than from the Vodnik hut.

@exwannabe Triglavska škrbina on the military photo is hidden behind Rjavcem and not visible as on yours, which means the view on the military picture is from a somewhat more western and distant position, so I think it must be taken somewhere well before Vodnik hut, when the path turns around Tosc (Na Zagonu).

Very interesting... Orientation-wise, this was taken from the position Na Zagonu, actually some 30 m NW on a smaller indentation (cca 1840 m). Altitude-wise, something strange, because this military photo was taken from a much higher altitude, above the height of Konjsko sedlo (2020 m). Then that lake, in summer (autumn) time (no snow)??? Photomontage?
