14 days in Dobrna I made the most of also to explore its surroundings.
More about that is at
http://vencelj-sportnik.blogspot.si/2016/09/pohodniske-poti-po-dobrni-in-okolici.html
I was on Paški Kozjak twice (of course on foot, although you can also drive there), but I wasn't on the highest peak of Paški Kozjak, Basališče (1272 m), likewise the highest peak of Dobrna municipality, Štrukljev vrh (1227 m) remained for me. But I did go, among other things, via Lanšperg to Gora (Šentjurgent, Kunigunda).

Planned circular route Dobrna - Paški Kozjak - Špik - ridge to Basališče - descent back to Dobrna none of us has walked yet. So we tackle it on Easter Monday.
Morning a bit below 0°C and nice sunny day. We park at the end of Vila Higiea, near old buildings. Signs lead us to the planned route. First asphalt and steep road. On the way we climb to the scenic rocky promontory Žebljarjeva peč 574m asl. Then forest paths and gravel sections follow to Paški Kozjak (2 hours). Behind the hut into the forest and steep ascent to Špik 1108m asl. Here we treat ourselves to a hearty Easter snack and continue towards the church of Sv. Jošt. Then the long ridge to Basališče follows. The ridge takes us an hour and a half of fairly fast walking. There are still remnants of snow in places, but no problems. At Basališče we take a break in the sun before descent, only the westerly wind pulls hard. First part of descent still through forest and meadows then road follows. On the way signs: Dobrna 1 hour, then lower Dobrna 1h and even lower Dobrna 55min.?
Then at the farm where signs for Anina pot, Gozdna učna pot, we decide to go our own way. Turn into the forest and leave the boring road. Some through forest, some across meadows and descend to the valley, cross the Dobrnica river and reach the marked signs again.
Then another 2km asphalt to start.
After 26km and 8 hours walking back at the spas.
Beer hit the spot, because strong westerly dried our lips completely...

Gorska p.
From Dobrna to Basališče without any problems. All nicely marked. To Špik we climbed directly, right after Dom na Paški K. from road into forest and then over quite steep part to top of Špik. Then to Basališče following marks, which are nicely followable.
Start of descent from Basališče without problems. Then be careful, because marked crosses the winding road several times. Otherwise most of it on road. Upper part gravel, lower asphalt.
Then we turned off the road (photos). Tired of the beaten asphalt. Went on nicely followable forest track and when in valley below spotted settlement Zavrh nad Dobrna. Across meadows found descent and perpendicularly down to marked or regional road Dobrna - Zavrh.

Thank you for such a fantastic suggestion for viewing Paški Kozjak. Yesterday we walked the entire trail and enjoyed it immensely. Followed your trail description. No orientation issues, as everything is really well marked. Sunny, windy weather, beautiful views, nice people... Good luck to all!

20. 9 ....Dobrna is a nice village and the surroundings pleasant for walks. You can also go somewhere by bus, but the weather is usually not too favorable to us. There are lots of walnuts along the trails, no one picks them. But after rainy days the leaves on the trees quickly turned brown and started falling. Everything passes, but it's nice.nasmeh

Super, Majda. Dobrna is really nice, also the walking paths and the hike to Kozjak. However now the hut is in a dilapidated state, closed for several years.
Memories go back to 2014, when I was there for rehabilitation. I was there again for 10 days in 2022.
I really recommend to all who enjoy nature.
Best regards!
