Hunting cabin on Talež

Today I set off from Bodeški bridge (near Ribno near Bled) along the icy path to the hunting cabin on Talež. The cabin on Talež is open in winter months on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays (sign on the door). Weather partly sunny, snow just a trace. Lp Tadej

The starting point is near the village Ribno located between Bled and Radovljica. The hunting hut on Talež is on the northern part of Jelovica. From the hut there is a nice view to Karavanke where Stol is visible. Nice also is the view to the valley with Lake Bled and part of Gorenjska plain.

From hunting hut on Talež you can extend the trip by path behind hut to W along slopes over pl. Arrival at Babji zob. From top of Babji zob descend cart track to village Kupljenik and over meadows to W past chapel down to Sava where cross bridge and to village Ribno not far.
There are also some marks and signs.

On the above-described path it takes approx. one hour at a moderate pace. A circular route is also possible.

You can also reach the hunting cabin on Talež via forest road from village Spodnja Lipnica near Radovljica. This path is less interesting but much safer when icy.
Anyway on Jelovica lovers of peace get what they want as no traffic road nearby.

And does anyone know if you can go up to Talež? Heard path from Ribno very bad due to fallen trees, wonder if possible from Bodesc or Lancovo? Thanks

The path from Ribno is normally passable. There are lots of fallen trees, but you can get to Talež without a problem.

Today Škofjeloška retirees - Ponedljkovci and Torkovci - PD Škofja Loka went to Talež alp - actually to the hunting cabin on Talež and Maret's ranch. We drove close to the cabin - only 15 min to the cabin. Nice macadam up - wide for bus, meeting is a problem. Cabin pretty - nicer view to the valley and Karavanke. Offer like other huts. Prices comparable. Then to Maret's ranch which enchants. From cabin good half hour. Marked turn left from forest road to steep rocky path to ranch. Reassure - steepness not more than 15 min. Rewarded with wonderful large clearing, nice house, Maya Bee house for 4. Ranch surprises with poultry - small geese, chickens, goats. Even snails for food - surprised me. Nice here - highly recommend.
