Nothing coming from Bovec can surprise me anymore. After the stormy reaction of hikers who "visited" the Hut on Mangart Saddle, the noble "Bčani" condescended to write the reasons for closing the hut.
Peter Skalar on Kanin, Kanin cable cars, rafting on the Soča - that's just the flower of their work.
They are also very-very successful historically.
Old Peter Skalar on Kanin - burned down 1.1.1972
Old hut on Mangart Saddle - due to lack of maintenance it collapsed.
Hut on Predel - only God knows when and how it passed into other hands.
Zlatorog Hut in Trenta - only God knows about it too.
Advice to all responsible in Bovec. - Publish TRR accounts, we will transfer money to you, and you will send cards as if we are sending them.
Maybe that would be too much effort for you too???

Regarding the hut on Mangart Saddle, hats off to caretakers Vanda and Erik for their effort over the last forty years plus  And big thanks!

Those two have merits that the hut was well supplied for so many years.
Since we have known each other for a long time, I know all the troubles they endured over all these years. All congratulations to them.
The other side is PD, local factors and Bovec Municipality. For them noon chimes when they are convinced it's only ten.
Supposedly there's some organization in Ljubljana full of talk about alpine management. You can see their picture on the Mrzla gora topic. Okrešelj will collapse again before they finish it.
PD Kamnik, PD Gorje, PD Ljubljana Matica care for their huts without PZS and with those huts everything is in perfect order. But I apologize to the societies I didn't mention, because their huts are also fine.
