Javor-1132m

Yesterday, with the help of our Tadej, I did a reconnaissance for my Škofja Loka Monday hikers. I had planned the peak Javor-1132m in the Zasavje hills. Since I hadn't been there yet, a reconnaissance was needed. The start was at Podmeja pass at height 724m at the hunting lodge. To the village Sveta Planina we walked about one and a half hours. The peak of Sveta Planina is on a little ridge above the church of Svete Marije at height 1011m. From the church we then descend to the mountain hut. Only after the ascent to Javor itself did I assess that for my retirees to here is quite enough and I won't take them to Javor itself. We continued to the village Vrhe, where there is a nice old church of Svetega Lenarta. From here to Javor itself. Likewise, the path from Sveta Planina - once called Partizanski vrh - took just about one hour. You climb to it on the left side through the forest. Then steeply upward to the viewless peak itself. It has no marker; a pile of stones marks the unfriendly peak. It looks like it is also little visited. On the way back we also visited the village Marija Reka, where there is a beautiful mountain hut. By the hut on the scree they made a nice secured climbing wall - this I really haven't seen at mountain huts yet. To the hut you can drive on a nice road. This is really a nice excursion point.

Practically the same tour as Primož's above, just different season. Trbovlje-Podmeja-Javor-Planina-Trbovlje.

The solitary and very scenic and dynamic path from Štrbenkla to Javor charmed me and I will definitely connect Javor also to the circle with the lower-Savinja hills.
Knap trail really has a nice track; I hope the weather doesn't spoil it for them in 2025.

The Planina hut was very well visited with excellent beef soup and strudelnasmeh

Very nice nasmeh looking at these pictures I remembered my adventure in these places.
I'm wondering where exactly that object in picture number 12 is. I don't remember seeing it; I didn't find it on my pictures either.

From your description, you went directly up the ridge to Javor, while I continued along the edge of the clearing, where you come to that little object.

28.11.2025 Krvavica, Vrhe, Javor, Krasovka, Gunetova glava
Started at -6°C at the parking under Krvavica by the Suhi stream. The start is usually muddy, today frozen. Instead of through Okno, directly over frozen grasses to the top. Čemšeniška in fog, otherwise nice views. I descend to the sunny side and under Šija towards Čemšeniška (marked). When I reach the meadows, instead of towards Gunet, I head towards Krivičnik. A bit further from it across the meadow into the forest and immediately find the connection that cuts to Vrhe. I eye the Javor summit, which I plan to climb via the former ski slope. Past the Sv. Lenart chapel and into steep meadows. The shady spot still has quite a few remains of frozen snowdrifts. Views are wonderful until I reach the top. The summit is not panoramic because it is surrounded by beech forest. I don't stay too long and descend back via the steep meadows of the ski slope.
The former Planinski dom Vrhe is closed as usual. So I continue past it towards the forested ridge that separates the Savinja side from the Zasavska side. It has three peaks: Kisovec 1021m, Hrib 950m, Krasovka 997m and - I visit the last one en route. I continue along the ridge to Gunet. I decide to also check Gunetova glava en route and then descend through meadows towards Slaničar. When descending from Gunetova glava I change my mind and take the traverse (vlaka) crossing the northern slope of Čemšeniška. The vlaka is wide as a road and I am soon above the Presedle saddle. I hardly manage to find the old path no longer used for ascent to Čemšeniška. During construction of the wide vlaka (vlaka crosses the path - old marks still visible) they buried it with stones. The start is a bit tricky due to piled stones, lower down it is well traceable. In the lower part I go right to the abandoned vlaka bringing me to bal - Presedle (terrain experts will know where that is). Now I am on the official road to Presedlo. I descend to the junction for Stari grad (Ojstrica) towards Kukenbergu. Here I descend along the gully to Glažuta to the springs and hunting blind. Along the muddy vlaka back towards the starting point. Only the Suhi stream separates me from the car, quite swollen. I have some trouble crossing it. After 6h 30min and 13.5km back at the car. Today alone all day at the parking (-1°C shows the car thermo.).
On the path nothing special for this season: remains of frozen snow, frozen grasses, muddy. Nice sunny day.
regards
