The clearing on the hill above Ločica pri Vranskem always catches my eye when driving towards Ljubljana. So we decided to check if it's panoramic. nasmeh

The clearing lies below Javoršek Hill above the villages Ravne and Zahomce. A signpost directs us there from the old road from Vransko to Trojane. We park behind the intersection of roads each leading to its village and head to Ravne. We cross the asphalt road several times, climb forest roads and paths along the stream and soon reach pastures below the village and Šmarni Ridge. At the houses we search for the cart track that (on the map) encircles Javoršek Hill. We choose the cart track along the eastern side of the less pronounced rise named Hudolovec and soon we're on the aforementioned "circular cart track". A thunderstorm catches us here, we shelter in dense beech woods and continue past cleared views by the Javoršek farm pasture, which is scenic – towards Celje Basin, but not the right one yet. We continue on the circular cart track past the farm and soon reach the sought clearing. Nice view from it towards Menina and Dobrovlje and surrounding hills. We continued on the increasingly overgrown cart track, which later made an unexpected bend and led back the way we came – some thirty meters lower than the upper part of the track. After a failed attempt at a downhill crossing we returned to it anyway and continued in the "wrong" direction. Later we refreshed our mushroom knowledge a bit mežikanje

and after (occasional) bushwhacking through vegetation after a while saw the road below, descended to it on a path through steep forest – and soon were at the car.

Last week the freezing in my feet drove me from a longer circular return from Kozice. But today I added it to my collection of walks on unhiked patches of the map. Nice places on a nice day.
