Edina, thanks. Started from Austrian side, approx. 2.5 km behind border crossing. First pic is really from Lesnikovo sedlo, Austrians seriously prepping for winter . LP

From Perk farm we go along the network of forest roads and reach directly the border crossing. We continue along the quite overgrown path of our former border guards to Pavličeve stene, which is an excellent viewpoint. Follows descent off-path and continuation to Lesnikovo sedlo. The path from the saddle is heavily overgrown at the beginning, excellent in the forest and on the Jerebičje ridge. From Jerebičje we descend to Matkovo sedlo and along a modest path directly into Matkov kot. But not to the end, somewhere at 2/3 of the way a path branches left, which brings us to the road, some 10 meters below Perk farm.

Janez, that path you took is my favorite for approach to the saddle. I've also descended down it several times, and it connects also with the middle path (power line in the gully). And of course also with the path I photographed on 27.6.2020 Matkova kopa regards

We chose that left branch to save the ascent on the road from Matk to Perk. Still need to come to these parts.

But that path from the description 27.6.2020 is among the most demanding and probably the least visited. It's a real gem of Matk's paths. I hope you'll find it and hike it. regards

Again from Pavličevo sedlo over Pavličeve stene to Jerebičje. As always, peace awaited me here, the rare traffic over the saddle quieted down soon, later the only "unnatural" sounds were tones of a chainsaw from the Carinthian side… The path to Jerebičje - from the saddle along the clearly visible border cuttings, ascent and descent from Pavličeve stene, small up-down to Lesnikovo sedlo, from there along the ridge to the summit - is quite easy to follow, as the more or less trodden path sticks to the border stones and occasional pasture fence, avoiding the immediate proximity of the border due to rougher terrain only here and there. On shady parts of the path the trail was wet and in places slightly frozen, requiring quite some attention on ascent. I descended along the path over the eastern slopes of Jerebičje, whose start is slightly hidden due to some fallen trees below the summit. At Lesnikovo sedlo, instead of continuing along the border path, I went along the road to the Austrian side, from which after a few hundred meters at the junction I turned right onto the road leading under Pavličeve stene. There - instead of over the annoying cutting (over which I always descend because of nice views of Grintovce) - I head along the track on the eastern edge of the Sten and at its end find again the path along the pasture fence. Soon I also find, on the clearing (later forest), a track, which first descends along the border cutting (to the right of it), then veers further right above the stream gully, and brings me back to the start in twenty minutes. It was a nice and scenic day, with hazy clouds and just enough sun to enjoy the natural gilding, almost warm at the top of Jerebičje.
