Yesterday in beautiful, morning cool weather Jugova gully up and down. Indescribable wilderness marked the day. From the parking in the village and back we didn't meet a living soul, only a couple of horses below, otherwise total solitude. No birds around. Only rocks, sky and snow wherever you look. And fantastic views to Grossglockner, also nearer ones.
Conditions as jedriličar described: to the gully start nicely firm, in the gully very mixed and 8-10 cm powdery new snow on firm base. Jumps filled. Descent down the gully quite nasty, lower super.

No trace of soft meadows under the larches

Today past Aka via Jugova gully. To the three larches snow/avalanche debris mostly hard, then newly fallen snow starts. It sinks quite a lot, already well before the gully, mostly at least half a meter. Exit possible left (partial ice) or right, both iced over. At the top at least 60cm of newly fallen snow. Snow partly reworked. On the south side some small avalanches released. Ascent from the south side in my opinion not safe yet, so I ended before the summit.

Conditions in Jugova gully are solid. If someone is tempted, some today's pics too.

Nice if the sun comes out (around half past eleven).

It's half past twelve. The sun has just nicely mellowed the snow.

In any case the gully must be heavily snow-filled. A week ago I went to Jalovec and haven't seen such a wide glacier tongue for a long time. Both are approx at the same height. You can also judge by the then picture of Kačji jezik and gully between Poncama

Since there's already so much debate... today's conditions nasmeh

It's rocky. From the start almost to 3 larches avalanche debris. Further, more snow-filled with heavy rotten snow. Over side gully no go, too little filled. At top, after exit from Jugova, again quite rocky.
