Kamniška Bistrica hasn't been an example of environmental care and nature preservation for quite some time; we have to admit it, although it's personally hard for me to say. True, floods caused extra damage and devastation, but Dom v KB has been renovating for so long you don't know if it'll really revive or not, Pri Jurju was closed all last season, I don't even know who handles those caravans settling around the meadow and all the cars crawling up the footpath over rocks to Krvavški bridge to hide in shade or because they don't want to walk as long as they can drive; worst is the bathing in K. Bistrica that's gotten out of hand and summers it's packed with naked bodies changing and lying on grass.. Is this a natural gem? 2024 drinking water analysis showed it's increasingly contaminated with E.coli bacteria, mayor says the KB spring is state's business and municipality can't do anything? Nothing, until we can't drink from Iverje intake where Bistrica flows too... Municipality must prove to state things gone too far and pressure it because it's responsible for water springs if under its jurisdiction. Citizens' corporation asserts rights, exploits surrounding forests, cuts everything possible, even around protected partisan hospital monument on way to Orglice, no responsibility taken as they're quarreling inside corporation etc. Yeah, this IS chaos for me. In Vrata valley they watched tourists washing feet in Triglavska Bistrica in summer, source of drinking water for locals, but Kamnik mayor doesn't care about our water and threw hands up - yeah easiest, really. And look around Kamniška Bistrica source - used to be neat path around spring left side along flow, small bridge over tough step, wooden bench too, now all rotted and collapsed, barely trace left; why nothing fixed? Not primeval forest to let nature be, but famous tourist spot, now sadly pool for all to soak and do other stuff in spring water! I know whatever you write, at least ten bash your head saying what you talking, no clue. Let be what will. Just wanted to politely say that for those visiting Bistrica 50+ years, impression sadder each time and @jprim's comments above far from pulled outta thin air.
Quote from water report: "Results of E. coli measurements in Kamniška Bistrica before Iverje intake on 20.8.2024 (Table 9) confirm assumption that source of fecal stream contamination is septic wastewater on pastures and in Kamniška Bistrica valley, where human-origin E. coli prevail. E. coli values, coliform bacteria, enterococci, total microorganisms at 36 and 22°C on 20.8.2024 are catastrophic (Table 6)".
