Hi, can't find a detailed description for this "circular" route. I assume this has been done many times, can someone write experiences, how is it with exposure protection? My plan is evening to Kamnik Saddle, overnight and then continue. Is there perhaps an easier return route? tnx, Matej

Fine plan and in my opinion this route is better because harder parts are on ascent not descent (T. gora, Skuta, also Grintovec if you climb it from Mlinarsko sedlo)

As I remember years ago, from Ledinska hut to Rinke, need helmet and self-belay kit because of exposure, Skuta Long ridge Struca, here go around, no direct path, good weather condition to Kokrsko sedlo. For one day enough. Then second day Grintovec Kocni then to Ceska hut to start in Zgornje Jezersko. This is just one variant, circular and very scenic, but we two went first day to Babe overnight at Ledinska hut. You have different plan, good luck on paths.

For start I'd choose Kam. Bistrica because then really circular path and back to car. Hope good weather Friday and Saturday...

You can do it also: Friday afternoon to Kokrsko sedlo (overnight Cojzova hut) Saturday to Grintavec traverse over/under Long ridge to Skuta down ramp to Turska gora and over Kotlici to Kamnisko sedlo rest and down to car. This part doable in one day but forecast no thunderstorm because no shelter to hut.

what about difficulty? are there sections not secured with high slip risk?

If you're not too used to exposed walls, then definitely traverse Dolgi hrbet on the lower side (fork at Mlinarsko sedlo to the right). Careful on descent from Skuta over ramp (can be loaded with scree), Kotliči secured with iron, then carefully step on narrow path, it goes, no problem. Kotliči - Boštjanca - Kamniško sedlo: recommend helmet because above path to Brano (stones falling from under hikers' feet).

With girlfriend we went two years ago the variant, complete from Kam. Bistrica, overnight at bivouac under Grintavec... then next day unexpectedly thick fog and (thinking back or forward) over Pode, Sleme and then Rinke and Turska (Skuta dropped due to fog, Grintavec not in plan). However you tackle it, 2nd day the tour is long and (if you plan to go to all peaks) stable weather is needed. Dolgi hrbet is quite exposed, apparently also the part from Skuta towards Rinke (haven't traversed that yet). Skuta is not too demanding, Turska has plenty of iron and is not such a problem. Some parts are quite crumbly, so when you grab a rock, check first if it will hold. Helmet I'd say is mandatory, self-belay kit recommended too (but it depends on how used you are. I usually don't use it, but it's in the backpack just in case).

If weather forecast is not perfect, you can still shorten the trip to just one day - depending on where you start and what the goal is.

Uh... hard to say where one could arrange the weather... some pray, Indians dance, some even claim to call HAARP and they arrange it there... I personally rely more on meteorologists. It's true they only give information and don't accept orders
