Yes, we didn't go up, but I think the path is right behind the hunting hut nasmeh

Saturday, 11.12.2021 (touring descent)

No crowd at Ravne, ascent done alone, didn't even have anyone to greet. Up in the hut three people, during descent about half way in two, coincidentally of course, rest alone again. Plenty of snow, "track" for uphill nicely routed, snow or base soft. Descent itself powder to knees and a bit less, all the way up top, a bit lower already a bit settled, but dry as pepper. Both conditions and adventure superb nasmeh

On Kobla there's still enough snow for skiing from car to car. Snow yesterday hard, partly frozen and nicely skiable. In the container at the upper Kobla station mess and broken windows. More tomorrow on Gore-ljudje.

After a year we headed to Kobla again but from another starting point. Ascent from Soriška planina ski slope to the higher road was on crust, so we walked to the shepherd hut on the service road. Descent through forest to Vrh Bače saddle solid, to lower hunter hut on crusty snow, below it granular snow on locally icy base. Ascent to Kobla through steep forest difficult, then wonderful views. 14 days ago from Danica camp in Bohinjska Bistrica along the former ski slope to Kobla. Late start due to morning rain.

Between Ravne and Kobla 3 cows grazing, from here very nice view of entire Bohinj valley, lake and when not cloudy also highest peaks above Bohinj. Lots of flowers, also full of insects interrupting the silence. On the whole path we didn't meet any hiker, except...

Just a few tens of meters after stepping onto the gravel path near Kobla 2, we experienced an incredible encounter. From steep slope 10-15m in front of us a loudly crying roe deer jumped and just meters behind it a lynx. In a moment they crossed the road and disappeared. The noise they made vanished instantly. Pure adrenaline! eek

We called hunters who confirmed they released a lynx pair there a few years ago. With a slightly uneasy feeling we continued on increasingly solitary path. A bit higher a fox crossed our path on former pasture below pass, on return at same spot two more. eek

Soon after we reached pass between upper chairlift station and Krevl, full of blueberries there. We stopped and picked some blueberries. Path continues very nice, scenic and well trodden. Thinking we were heading to Kobla summit we reached wonderful panoramic ridge and shortly after its top, which should be Krevl but has stamp for Kobla summit too.

From there really nice view all around. To Primorska, even sea visible, towards Črna prst, peaks above Soriška planina and Bohinj. Highest peaks wrapped in clouds, but occasionally part of Očak revealed with snow from previous day.

Return same path, but through Ravne village on road.

Path otherwise unremarkable, occasionally less traceable, interesting and scenic. Bohinj shows in completely different light. Probably unrepeatable, as one rarely meets a lynx in nature, especially lynx on hunt. nasmeh

Just a few minutes later a view to the other side, where Porezen and Kojca stand out

The path is well trodden and opens up more and more

Wandering around Kobla - ski area the day before yesterday, namely Boh. Bistrica - Strme - hunter hut behind Mali vrh (mostly along Juliana trail to here) - upper chairlift station Kobla 3 - almost Kravja Črna gora - back to hunter hut - Kobla 2 - Ravne.

Started in sunny weather, ended in rain. At top of Kobla 3 (wow views!), where to Kravja Črna gora along unmarked path another 15 min (from eye), didn't look for passage from bushes to forest, because 3 hours walking behind me, already heard thunder and no longer sure of my energy reserves. Good decision, because in 10 min rain started and fog rolled in, still almost 2 hours walk across ski area to Ravne ahead. Rain getting stronger, good no wind, didn't freeze. Water immediately running on path. Would rather be safe and comfy on couch, I thought and hurried down. At Ravne waited for pickup.

Path itself unremarkable, mostly on gravel and cart track. Nice views at Strme, at top of upper Kobla 3 station and just before that top looking back Šavnik with Soriška appears. Plan to return to Kravja Črna gora, but shorter path from Ravne past Planina Za Črno goro.
