Today I climbed from the Lipica border crossing to the 670 m high Kokoš. The path is easy and suitable also for families with small children. The ascent takes less than an hour.
Otherwise, it was sunny and windy at the top today.

The stamp is in front of the hut, next to the logbook. Around the corner, where the mailbox is (picture 3).

With the princess we went again to the hills towards the sea. The circular tour took us to Kokoška, from there past the Vroček spring to Veliko Gradišče and through Prelože back to Lokev. We had weather, although it could have been nicer; the path was dry, even if it could have been less muddy, and there was no crowd, although we weren't completely alone.
In Prelože we met three (one of whom recognized me from this forum), who were starting the trip in the opposite direction, which the princess and I were finishing - we greet you nicely

Saturday, 24.4.2021 (bike trip)
I started at the parking lot of Škocjan Caves Park and from there took the gravel shortcut to nearby Dane. There I got a bit lost, so I arrived in Kozina via the main road instead of the side one past Rodik. I continued along the route of the former Trieste-Kozina railway almost to the ITA border, shortly before I turned steeply up to the cemetery near the village of Mihele. From there to Krvavi Potok and on to Vrhpolje, above which the steep climb began. Until then traffic of any kind was so little it's not worth mentioning. Above Vrhpolje I almost fell off the bike, so much metal as in front of BTC, well, almost that much. There I reached gravel that accompanied me all the way to the top of Kokoška. On the road lots of hikers and walkers, the closer to the top I was, the more of us there were. Up there like on the beach in mid-August. I barely found a modest patch of grass among bushes a bit aside and there tied my soul and rested my body. Topless! Then wild descent to the Lipica border crossing and from there to Lokev, where I found a side, unmarked gravel road via which I returned to Matavun. Nice loop. On Kokoš it's worth trying the štruklji (which also contribute to the high attendance).

If you were really in Lokvah, you're a good cyclist. From Kokosi to Lokev it's very likely more than 70 km. Lokve are actually above Nova Gorica. You were in Lokvi and not Lokvah...

I haven't been to Kokoš for years. We went this afternoon. From the Lokev border crossing. On the steep path. Descent on the road, which is in good condition. The hut on top was open. And a heated tent next to it.
