On Saturday, 3.11. the "high guest from abroad" really wants to see the Triglav Lakes valley. We would go via Komarča to the hut and back. What are the conditions on the path, is Komarča already frozen and therefore too dangerous? We are all quite experienced hikers. Thanks for any information. Ana

If the hut at Savica is still open, it's best to call them and ask about Komarča (phone numbers on PZS.si). Today, e.g., there was no snow on Pokljuka, it started only at the height of Lipance, i.e., ca. 1600 m, and even that depending on the sunny/shady location.

I don't know current conditions, but several times in winter I've gone via Komarča to the top no problem, but then past Black Lake the snow can sink over your waist. Especially at that spot under a wall. So snowshoes can come in handy.

The path over Komarča is dry. From Black Lake onwards, the path is trodden, but there is snow in places almost knee-deep. Snowshoes are not needed, gaiters are useful at a fast pace.

On Saturday, 29.5. I would set off from the Savica hut via Komarča to Black Lake. How is the path or is it quite slippery given the current weather conditions? Thanks.

Today we went via Komarča to Black Lake.
You cross two streams, it's good to have high boots. Also at 1200m where the path goes around the rock with cables, at the end you end up wading in water. Otherwise the path is dry. Snow at the top on the clearing through the forest, the lake has risen a lot.

With brother descended via Komarča early September. No obstacles on path, some more scree in places otherwise OK.

Need info if path over Komarča suitable for dog used to hikes/tours in hills. Know it's steep but asking mainly if need to climb anywhere, or cables just for grip and security on exposed parts? Best regards

There where one goes on pegs, dog goes in gully. Problem only with high water, when below water rushes and last pegs in water - extremely rare. I've gone in such conditions.
