Komarča - Komna

Yesterday I did a beautiful tour. Over Komarča to Black Lake, then towards Komna via Orlič to Planina na Kraju. Short break here, then a walk to Planina Govnjač and return to the hut on Komna. All together with descent to the valley approx 5-6 hours.

It was cold, but nice autumn weather. Silence was broken only by bird calls (kinglets, tits, thrushes, crossbills) and chamois cries, which are supposedly migrating to lower areas already. Larches are still more green than yellow. I highly recommend the tour at this time!

Today due to expected afternoon weather deterioration to Komna via Komarče. I left the car at the hut by Savica and over the bridge soon to the left. Savica roars strongly, the waterfall must be magnificent now. Path over Komarče cliffs was dry - OK. But full of leaves, so need to be careful. For the second year I don't walk almost at the top on water - that's at those steps. Spring is alive - I climbed a bit up the gorge and found water - it sinks soon. Lower down the spring bubbling under rocks is clearly visible. In an hour and a half at Black Lake. Inside lots of small fish swimming. For today I'd say the murky green water is Green not Black. Then above lake left on nice path to hut on Komna. Hut open non-stop. Then short walk to hut under Bogatin. Of course I searched all ruins around and discovered shocking find in former, one could say cistern by ruins. Below still mounted water tap, thought maybe water inside. How wrong I was. Won't write what I found. This military complex during WWI was really magnificent. Panel on path to hut teaches about it. Return of course via those famous serpentines to valley.
Start.1
Savica is quite watery - the waterfall must be magnificent.2
In less than two hours we are at Črno jezero.3
Cliffs of the left part of Komarča.4
Down here water should flow.5
There is a spring, just higher up the gully to the right - it is possible to reach it, because afterwards there will be no running water, neither on Komna nor around Bogatinsko sedlo.6
A little higher on the right side in the gully we spot another spring coming from under rocks - but we cannot reach there.7
The path is well secured throughout.8
That's Komarča indeed.9
10
Although the summit is only 1167 m, it's no joke.11
At Črno jezero.12
Beautiful from all sides.13
From here on the camera went on strike. So Komna and the peaks around there another time.14

Velkavrh nice pics, these here and those at rožca too. But you know what, if you don't want to say something or think it's better to be quiet then don't post like this what you saw. Now I'm so curious what you discoveredeekjezik

I went up in the dark; on the way back, this was on the path, maybe it was already there, maybe it came down just that day.

Today I went from Komna to Komarča. Komarča is currently in very bad condition. Full of scree and wood. I advise against the downhill path. Already at the beginning there are fallen beeches. I've never seen Crno Lake so big. You can't go around it along the shore at all. Above the lake, where the path goes to Komna, there's still a lot of snow, but it's not hard to cross. I went to the hut Pod Bogatnom, which the Bohinj guys will open this month. The sewage plant is completed and the surroundings arranged - praiseworthy. I always like to stop by. Back via mulatjera - count the bends.

Soon we spot falling water on the right from the rock - nice.1
This is how the path looks.2
The most attractive part of the secured path. Surprise - there was no water.3
Summit of Komarča.4
This is how nicely it is seen from the top of Komarča - of course zoomed.5
Playing with the new camera - lake below.6

I've never seen it so big before.8
On Komna then to the Koča Pod Bogatinom.9

Bogatinsko sedlo still has plenty of snow.12
These peaks confuse me a bit. Pictured from left to right -towards Bogatinsko sedlo.13

Almost certainly my photos got mixed up. I know the peaks, but can't identify them from the pictures. If anyone knows them, please identify them for me. Thanks!20

Is the path over Komarča perhaps already cleared of ice storm damage?

KOMARČA-ORLIČ 1457m - KOMNA

It's been quite a while since I opened this thread and it was time to repeat the tournasmeh. But we added something new, we even went to the source of Sava Bohinjka or to see the place where Savica waterfall is born. The place really captivates you, there's something majestic there. You stand and admire, but we didn't want to be too brave. There were quite a few memorial plaques as a warning, you can understand it that way.

Orlič is a beautiful vantage point and it's no wonder it pulled me up again. It offers a view along the entire edge of Komarča, the feeling is really elevated. On the other side, view to Bohinj Lake, on the edges, the Tolmin-Bohinj mountains tempt, on the other side walls of Stadorje, Rigljca, and views towards Sedmeri with Čelo and Vršac in the background, don't leave you indifferent.
We stopped at a couple of viewpoints along the edges of Komarča and admired the view everywhere. So it's no wonder that the path to the hut under Bogatin seemed terribly long to us. Yes, long, but beautifulnasmeh.
