Komarča, Komna, Bogatin

Sunday 6.6. Nice forecast, off to the hills again. Maša and I left the car at Savica. Ascent via Komarča done in a good hour. At Black Lake snack, sunbathing and enjoying the silence, then to Komna. No peculiarities on the way. Longer break at Komna, then towards Bogatinsko sedlo and from there to Bogatin. In the upper part need to cross a snowfield for a few steps and lots of scree on the path, so need a bit more caution to avoid a slip. Return path was just the icing on the cake of a beautiful day.

Today I did a similar tour, also starting via Komarče. Up is of course much easier than down, which I did about a week ago. On the path over Komarče lots of cow parsnip. Still no water towards the top. Then past Črno jezero and to the hut on Komna. Behind the hut towards planina Govnač. Isn't govnač some Bohinj dish? I visited planina Govnač for the first time and it surprised me with its size and multitude of ruins from WWI. They have prepared water catchments for livestock, which I didn't see. I wanted to take a shortcut to Mahavšček, but my shortcut failed. It took me to the other end of the planina. The second time I went by the marked path. The landscape is wonderful. First the path takes you to Vrh Škrli, then to Mahavšček and continues to Bogatin. Both peaks have logbooks, no stamps - they are obtained at the hut Pod Bogatinom. Really under Bogatin peak I ran into some gentians - the first this year. Then descent to Bogatinsko sedlo and to the hut Pod Bogatinom for struklji and past the hut Na Komni on numerous serpentines to Savica. Day not too hot, need to start the tour early, otherwise too hot.

Today we also decided to go see how those 48 serpentines to the home on Komna look like. Of course the last serpentine doesn't mean we're already at home, since at least a third of the path still awaits us to get there. From home we continued the path to Bogatinsko sedlo and on to Bogatin, and since there was still enough time, we extended the path also to the top of Mahavšček.
Weather nice, views solid, only peaks over 2200 m stubbornly hid in clouds.

We repeated Velkavrh's tour today. Ascent via Komarča to the lake, then to Komna and from there to Bogatin, Mahavšček and via shortcut back to home on Komna. We descended via serpentines. Of course we also viewed the Savica waterfall on the return.
The Markači have cleared the path from planina Govnjač towards Komna, which was quite overgrown with debris.
In short, the "Bohinj classic" succeeded.

Another nice day spent in the mountains. This time start at Savica, via Komarča and past Black Lake to Komna. Descent via shorter (serpentines), obligatory view of Savica waterfall and perfect day concluded. Path b.p.s. with wonderful views. Regardsnasmeh

Repeated the above tour, in winter variant. Komarča was dry today (probably only today, for a while), snow started at its exit. The lake was exceptionally interesting, frozen with large ice plates along the shore curve. It even cracked interestingly once. Foggy until two, then cleared up, but quite cold. Waterfall is half, no big one, below path closed (start, detour made). And of course everything else where you can spend a euro, too. Apparently no one bothers to open a bar to sell visitors tea or coffee....
On several sections there is a fixed cable.1
It was foggy today.2

Finally blue sky, and Dom na Komni.9

If you look at one post before, you can see that half of the waterfall is missing.15
Closed start because water almost washed away the path. The next one will.16
