Korošica, Koroški vrh 1990m

In the morning in Kamniška Bela it looked almost like turning back. Dark, foggy, higher up it was blowing quite a bit, but I kept going upwards. Up there, due to the uncut pine scrub along the path, sometimes quite annoying, I pick up extra water, so by the summit I'm soaked to the bone. In between, some fallen trees have been lying there for quite a while. And these Kamnik folks!, as if they didn't know a motorbike or at least a chainsaw. The signs at Presedljaj are only up in summer, and even then mostly for ants and snakes. To the hut in good 3 hours, where the kind ladies immediately gave me some space on the bench by the kitchen for my "amphibious" jacket. Then I refresh myself, later the pleasant sun finally shines outside, which even the cows rejoice in. The hutkeeper says that in future they might plan to open the hut for some winter dates. The problem is that the shelter still needs insulating, the stone outer walls will be covered with larch shingles, with an air gap in between. When it'll all be done is still a question, depending on help. On the return I also pop to the nearby Koroški vrh and traverse it (it has three peaks and is quite long) to the Prag saddle, where I descend. Down goes faster and I spend another three hours including the peak.
Nice tour through the less visited, quiet and overgrown part of the Kamnik-Savinja Alps.

yeah, I turned back. At 5:45 it was pouring on Prevežak like from a bucket. I waited till 7:00 but there was no hope and went back to the valley. In Ljubljana sun....ccccjezen

Aleš, despite it being dry from above, I was completely wet from the bushes. Water was dripping from the elbows of my jacket, squelching in my shoes despite Event membrane, because water ran from pants into shoes. Attaching some pics of overgrown trail from Presedljaj upwards. Best

Viharnik, well, the poor manager still has some problems with rain, as I saw, since I was there the nights of Sun 14th and 15th (left 15th morning after 9), and quite some water came in, into the living room. Otherwise on Planjava it blew so that Nanos looked like in bora :-)
This is how I saw the hut when leaving in the morning1
Also at the summit of Planjava there was only fog and wind2

As it looks, nobody maintains these paths anymore?

Indeed at Kocbekova hut, when they renovated it, amateurs were at work. That external plaster-joints between stones-bricks of the hut was not suitable by purpose for external plaster, nor does it withstand such extreme weather conditions at these heights. They used some cheap plaster on the small wall, which proved completely wrong. According to the caretaker's conversation, ordinary strong concrete would be much better, binding the stones well. Roof has been replaced, but in the final gutter it is not extended over the walls and sometimes leaks. I hope real masters will take over this hut and advise the best materials for high mountains, because here at this height with expensive transport every further renovation intervention is more than overpaid.
Anyway despite some water only in heavy rain, Kocbekova hut radiates homeliness of good energies together with staff, which in mountains counts most for a person. Kamniško and Kokrško sedlo are real highways, compared to the idyll and peace of the green oasis of Korošica captured in mountains.

The path below to the foot of Presedljaj is quite nice, even wooden bridges have been made, above though a motorcycle or saw would be needed every fifth day. Not to mention the already fossil markings on the path. Don't know if Kamnik people do this-leave on purpose, since Korošci recently renewed and marked fresh all their paths. Also the upper steep sandy gully is not secured for less skilled visitors. If I had a saw and a bit of paint with me, I'd already casually renew and make a more passable path.
The marks are eaten away by the tooth of time!1
