Today Peter and I set off from Kot to the right summit above Dovški vrata. We followed the advice and used trekking boots for the path from the valley to the studenček, which greatly eased our ascent, as the path is of course bare. From the studenček onwards on skis and slowly, with four short breaks, we reached almost 2400 m above sea level. The snow caused no problems, only from the junction to the climbing path to Rjavina onwards, crampons and ice axe are needed, of course if on foot, because the snow was nicely firm and packed this morning, and the path in places over snowfields is still deep under snow. Soon fogs started rolling in from Kot, which didn't promise good visibility for skiing (descent), so we hurried up. Skiing in the upper part was superb, in the middle part a bit more southern snow, below more and more rocks on snow patches. Because of that, there were a few more scratches on the skis, but all this doesn't spoil the wonderful feelings of a wonderful day in our beautiful mountains. LP Andrej
