But who knows reliably how the passability of the path to Kot is? I haven't seen an official notice that it's cleared and open. In the Stanič Hut they told me today that hikers normally come from Kot, where they drive to the barrier.

Don't encourage people to do stupid things.
Access to the hut via forest road from Kot valley is not possible for a while, due to windthrow there is lots of fallen trees on the road.

The road into Kot is theoretically passable, because foresters cleaned it first to haul out logs with machinery. But it's a full worksite, wind-broken trees are very dangerous as they are tense like a bow and can snap dangerously even on touch. Better wait another week until foresters finish.
