Today climbed a wonderful ridge that takes you directly to the top of Kozjek.
Descent via marked trail back to Socka. The ridge offers nice, sometimes quite exposed climbing grade I and II in good rock...cca 150 meters.
Nicely spent Saturday. mežikanje

That's the easiest access to the first ridge. Everything else is harder.

26.12.2023 Kozjek
With Zoki today we tackle the above-described ridge for the first time. We park by the road over the bridge by the older house. Then straight towards the ridge - very steep! We climb above the gully (Dolfi's pic.2.) Then you have no choice but to follow the ridge to the top. Climbing not difficult.
Rock was warm, we weren't cold. Ridge passes too quickly!
Back we descend the opposite ridge we observed opposite ours. Didn't know if passable all the way and midway shift more to the right. Descent quite steep while looking for easier passages. Quite tricky all the way to Hudinja stream. Along it we move downstream, where it blocks us too. So we have to return to the bridge and then to start by Socka - Vitanje road. Walked cca. 3.5km in 4 hours. Didn't hurry.
Weather sunny +10C. Along the way discovered some cave entrances not deeper than 4m. Into one we didn't crawl because access quite demanding. Descent was more demanding than ascent!!! velik nasmeh

20.3.2025 Kozjek, Kislica, Špičasti vrh
Parked on the road opposite the lonely house on the other side of Hudinja. Found path leading under the wall and on to the hayloft. Here steeply up and then to the ridge. Sun warming the rock and while climbing I thought about snakes and ticks. Almost stepped on a nice fat viper that hid in a rock crack. Need to watch out, because you can miss it accidentally. Continued much more carefully zavijanje z očmi

Descended from Kozjek summit to Strnad meadows. Here straight up and reached marked path a bit higher. Continued on marked for a while, soon got bored. Turned left into steepness and direct to ridge. Here I meet marked. Continue along ridge to Kislica and on to Špičasti vrh. In the sun take a break and then down rocky ridge. When rocks end descend right direct down. At first very steep until I hit track. Continue on tracks back towards Strnad meadows. For a while also on marked. Until I find path leading to start.
In 5 hours walked 9km. Sunny, warm, light SW wind. So, snakes are already there! For ticks still waiting results. Usually have at least 50 per season. So it would be a miracle if I don't get it. Last year got it already 20.2.2024.

Dejan, you who know the ridge well will recognize the viper's spot. Behind that rock in the photo there's a grassy patch where it sunbathes. Next to it there's a nice crack in the rock where it hurries if you disturb it. I stepped right next to it and noticed it when it rustled by my leg. It's a real big one! So be careful not to pet it when climbing over!
(On the Brezniške peči ridge, vipers have been staying for years on part of the ridge, always in the same spot)

In Socka +2°C and some fog.
The rocks of the ridge are sunlit. When I reach the climbing section I stow the poles and put on gloves. I expect some viper in the sun. Last year I almost stepped on it. It is warm, I check every step and grip. Exactly in the same place as last year I surprise it sunbathing. Hissing, it retreats into a crack and I barely catch the last part to photograph it. Too bad I was too slow, it too fast to film it.
At the top of Kozjek 746m I do not linger long. I descend past blooming teloh to Strnad's meadows. For a while I traverse the marked path then steeply up to the ridge, which brings me to Špičasti vrh 960m in a few minutes. I treat myself to a hearty snack and rest in the sun.
I continue along the ridge to Kislice 994m and further to the descent. When I reach the ledge that would take me back to Strnad's meadows I decide for the ridge I spot below. Beautiful descent, if only it lasted longer. I pause at the rocky tips, a bit tricky for me zmeden

. I choose left and for about half an hour it is quite scary then OK. Below I hit a nice ledge, follow it to the main road to Vitanje (currently closed to all traffic). Along the empty road past Unior and about 2 km of asphalt to the parked car.
