Kranjska Gora - Vršič road: CLOSED from 7am-5pm

Today (29.01.2019) afternoon ski walk to Vršič. No entry sign (due to avalanches) soon after Erika, but road drivable without chains to Koča na Gozdu. There big snow pile blocking further drive, but road plowed (to asphalt) past Tonkina hut to bend at about 1400m. Further track (some from hikers, some snowshoers, some ski tourers) to the pass. From there nothing more.
Weather afternoon nice, more snow with every meter (at pass 60-70 cm), but scree not covered yet.
Skiing down somewhat so-so, mostly on road. In forest occasional branch under crust, on road along the edge so skis don't scratch asphalt. Nicer would be old Vršič road, junction after Tonkina hut. On return I saw ski tracks there.
