Kravji vrh / Kuhberg 2017m

Kravji vrh is a mountain located along the marked trail Šajda - Ojstrc 2139m.

Through the Jezersko border crossing we descend to Železna Kapla, where at the end of the village we turn left towards Šajda. At Šajda pass 1069m we park at the arranged parking lot by the main road, and head onto the gravel mountain road where there is a no-entry sign for all vehicles. Yellow signs for Ojstrc (3h from the starting point) guide us through the forest, we cross the mountain road several times, or we can just walk along the gravel road to the spot where the trail climbs from the road into the forest after 10m of wooden steps. Past Kacmunov's cross we reach the plateau, where our mountain is already on the left, but there is no passage here through the dense bushes. We follow the marked trail to Ojstrc to the S ridge of our mountain, where the bushes are denser higher up and we search for a passage, so we can follow the footprints of predecessors in the labyrinth of cut bushes, which leads us along the ridge past the forepeak to the summit.

At the summit there is a summit log box and a cross with markings Kravi vrh (probably a mistake)/Kuhberg 2017m, on the PZS Karavanke 1:50.000 map the peak is marked as 2024m.

For the easy route we need two and a half hours; for orientation we best help ourselves by first climbing to Ojstrc from which the cross on Kravji vrh is nicely visible.

On Saturday I also climbed from the Šajda saddle to Kravji vrh. I ascended to the summit via the path described by kolosej, descended via the path leading directly to Kacmunov's cross. Both paths are cut through the bush sections and relatively easy to pass, the descent path also runs a good part through the forest, where it's less visible but "equipped" with quite a few cairns.
Best, Tadej

On Monday on the way back from Obir I headed to Kravji Vrh. The path runs along the ridge among pines left, right, forest and down, about 30 min walk from the saddle. I returned the same way. It's a nice summit with nice views and compared to Obir peace and little visitors, which it definitely deserves.
