I left the car in Tržič in front of Mercator at the gas station. Then I headed along the ridge of Kriška gora to the hut.
At the start there was no real running speed, 'cause I was still kinda finding my way. Once I "found" the church of St. Joseph, no more issues. The path is very well marked from there. It's gently sloping for a short bit, then steeply up in switchbacks via wooden steps. The path reminded me of Tominšek's to Triglav. The steepness is something like Dobrča from Poldet's bench onwards.
You can still run, but it's an effort. It all kinda drags on. In 44 minutes I'm at the hut.
Main training done. So I slowly jogged towards Tolsti vrh. Again starts very flat, pulling you along, then worse and worse. Round (wet) rocks protrude from the path covered in lots of sheep shit, making it one big slide. Weather got noticeably worse higher up. So at the top I just turned back down the same path.
On the way back I stopped at scenic spots Velika and Mala Mizica from where Tržič looks nice.
Nice little tour for such bad weather, when high mountains are dangerous for running (and even hiking). Relative elevation gain up is good 1200 m.
Oh, shame the race no longer goes to the top of Kriška gora but only to Gozd: http://bojanambrozic.spaces.live.com/blog/cns!ACD975034630F7FE!8587.entry?wa=wsignin1.0&sa=626716184

Bojan, so young but already very experienced. Results are also enviable (I follow your results here on the forum - like reading Nejc Z's diary). Bravo, my respect. But I have a question for you. Interested in how overtaking works on path sections where there's space for only one. Does the overtaken have to step aside, or does the faster one wait for a suitable spot. If you're interested in happenings in our parts, PD Nazarje organizes the first mountain run to Farbanec on Monday. Invited.

Thanks. Overtaking on narrow parts generally no problems, as runners quickly sort by strength. So rarely happens that I have to overtake more than one or two at once. In those rare cases I somehow "plowed" through the forest. Usually (esp. later in race) overtake at most one at a time. The one who can't hold pace just steps aside or pursuer finds wider spot for attack. All fair play. Haven't had bad experiences yet.
Thanks for invite to race. But unfortunately can't respond positively, as I'm sick now and resting.

Thanks for reply, really quick and concrete. Since you say you're resting, probably just recharging batteries... ha ha - follow our hockey players at WC. If not this year, then some other time at Farbanec. best regards.
