Krk, Baška, camp Bunculuka: Vrženica canyon and Vela/Mala Luka bays
- one of the nicer and most mountaineering trails on Krk nasmeh

For the entire trail of about 10 km it takes about 5 hours, as there is a lot of nice things to see along the way, in the first part above Bunculuka, it can be done in a loop, in the second part - from the junction in the upper part of the Vrženica gorge via Rebica pass to Vela and Mala Luka bays, we hike it back and forth on the same path.
In sunny weather and summer it can get quite hot, off-season or during the week it's not certain if the "bufet" on the beach in Vela Luka is open, so water and snack in the backpack, sunscreen and hat on the head are mandatory parts of equipment. I also recommend proper hiking footwear and don't underestimate these trails, as they are for the most part genuine mountaineering trails.

Vrženica gorge is still fairly wide and flat below

the canyon gradually narrows and ascends

some small chimney is found soon after the start

everything is fairly well marked and frequent

the gorge widens every now and then ... and then narrows again

... such small pools remind e.g. of Glinščica at home

early morning there is still some shade in the gorge, otherwise it can be hot

at some difficult and smooth places steps are helpful

already in the second or upper part of the canyon

at the end of the path into the canyon and junction with path from camp

then continue ascending right along the dry wall

... and reach the highest point to Rebica pass

The downhill path is relatively steep, gravelly and demanding.

We continue more levelly towards Mali Luka.

Remains (probably of a church) at Mali Luka.

when we return after about 1.5 hours back to the junction with the Vrženica gorge

On the last day we went a bit along the coast and then through the Vrženica canyon to the top of Rebica or a bit further to the viewpoint, to see Mala and Vela Luka as the birds see them. velik nasmeh

The path along the coast and through the canyon is quite demanding. It was a really hot day, which was livened up in the morning by a dolphin in Baška, later Egyptian vultures in the sky. mežikanje

Yesterday on the wonderful mountaineering-sea trail on Krk. First across Bunculuka beach and further along the sea to Vrženica bay, then hike through the picturesque canyon to Rebica, as the highest point of our hike. Descent to beautiful Vela Luka and swimming there at about 18°C is a really special experience nasmeh

Return from there along the seaside path (which is not yet drawn on the map) past or above beautiful coves and beaches back to the starting point.
Walked about 15 km, and did about 500 m elevation.
