Interesting thoughts... The photo itself is influenced by a "million" circumstances when you're at a certain place.
We really enjoyed this path, in peace, views and wonderful autumn colors. Very beautiful places, so far unknown to us, and lots of new ideas were born. nasmeh

To Lopatnik and along the ridge to Krnčica, where I waited for the sunset. Dry conditions, it was a warm and nice day.

Yesterday on Krn there was also the rescue of an injured paraglider, just about an hour later the female hiker got lost above Drežnica or under pl.Zapleč. Yesterday the parking at pl.Zapleč was full.

On Sunday 21.11.2021 on Krnčica, Srednji vrh and Lopatnik.

In the highlands it was a wonderful day, incredible views in all directions. Consequently Krnčica that day was not exactly lonely. nasmeh

Additional beauty to the views was given by the white sea of fog and low clouds in the valley. At first only in the Kobarid basin, then suddenly it covered the pastures Zapleč and Zaprikraj. Below me the whole "show" was happening. velik nasmeh

Slowly but persistently the white sea pushed through Predolina toward the Bovec basin. It also tried a breakthrough to Bc around Polovnik...
"Might be interesting to 'dive' into this whiteness," I thought. On the return to the valley I experienced this unique experience. In a very narrow strip the eyes had to adjust to completely different light. "Dive" into a completely different world. Visibility was between 10 and 20 m. A little before the road I checked my location with the map and navigation on the phone for a better feel...

Yesterday on this beautiful mountain from Lepena. At the start it was quite tricky finding the path, then steep ascent along Šumnik as high as possible through the forest. When looking for the best passage, we reached the Krnčica ridge at 1700 m. Then the tour was easier, along or beside the ridge, which was spiced up by fog and then rain on descent to the saddle Čez Potoče and then to Krn Lake, so a lot of caution, orientation and searching for passages in broken terrain was needed. Quite demanding and technical tour, but something new and this time the areas around Krn impressed.

6.7.2024/Krnčica today did not offer views,,for that we enjoyed the beautiful botanical garden.

Oblo Brdo - Krnčica - Srednji Vrh - Skutnik - Lopatnik
On Sunday we parked at the trough, a bit above D.Ravnami. We assessed that the road to Pl. Zapleč is not suitable for a lower car. To Zapleč the path is poorly marked, further better though the direction which is always clearly visible helps the most. First we climbed Oblo Brdo then continued towards Lopatnik. We headed to the saddle between Krnčica and Lopatnik and along the ridge to the Krnčica summit. From Krnčica partly along the ridge and partly along the mulatjera to Srednji vrh where after a short ridge descent we turned sharply left into the rocky world towards Skutnik. We followed the old military path which we can't miss as it is surrounded by a visible wall hiding the view from the southeast. Sometimes we have to find the direction as it is hidden behind huge rocks. To Skutnik a bit on military paths, a bit on natural passages. From Skutnik back to the saddle between Krnčica and Lopatnik then to Lopatnik. Extremely picturesque and varied path: lots of different flowers, mulatjeras, walking between WWI walls, pristine nature and wonderful views.

To Zapleč bad road, along marked Za Vrata short time then hunting path. Initially easy to follow, then junctions appear, higher in grass mulatjera already lost, search, go my own way and find and lose again. Even higher in grass almost completely lost, climb over grass and find mulatjera again. Meet some goats. In rocks demanding, narrow mulatjera which I occasionally search for too. No cairns. Arrive left of Srednji vrh and take a short break. Not so easy and always have to be careful. At Srednji vrh short time then along ridge to Krnčica. On ridge short II degree jump in descent appears. Marked goes lower. Reach Krnčica much earlier and wait for sunset. Descent along marked back to Zapleč.
