We're spending a short break with the family in the Carnic Alps. They won me over on my first visit here, now they enchant me even more every time I wander around here.

With a three-year-old you need a bit of patience and careful planning of the tour (both for joint ones and those where "dad" and "mom" take turns nasmeh

)

We drive to the beautiful village of Collina, where we admire the view of the king of the Carnics, from there a bit further to Rifugio Tolazzi.

There we wave mom goodbye so she can quickly go to Volaia pass, meanwhile we explore the path to the pastures above the hut.

Weather held up, so I could also quickly pop to Austria before we drove back towards Tolmezzo.

The path from Rif. Tolazzi is very picturesque, pleasant and scenic. And also quite short (a bit over 3 km one way and 600m elevation), so it allows quick access with lungs full of beauties!
