Lajnar - Možic - Vrh Bače

We made the most of today's day up - down - around the peaks above Baška Grpa. From Petrovo brdo along a nice forest path towards Črna prst, then at the first path junction towards Lajnar. Just below Lajnar, a cold and quite strong wind welcomed us, but we continued towards Možic anyway, descended towards Vrh Bače and back to the start. On the path from Vrh Bače there's quite a bit of fallen trees, so we were pushing over, under, between and around ...mežikanje. There were quite a few visitors to the peaks above Soriska planina or above Baška Grpa.

Probably the last dedec I climbed this year, I wrote once at the end of September. As for dedecs it held, but I still managed možica.:jezikvelik nasmehToday's trip went in reverse direction of Ksenin's above, in between we ascended also Slatno, a summit a bit off the marked path between Možic and Lajnar. Anyway Petrovo brdo, Vrh Bače, Možic, Slatnik, Lajnar and circular back to start, it went today. Path well marked, little snow, also few visitors. Snow on top windblown and hard, but no problems. On the way to Vrh Bače due to fallen trees extra workout provided. Also ski tourers were already out, but snow too little for bigger fun. Nice, sunny and cold day, definitely winter taste. nasmeh
Start and end (suitable), right from the bar, immediately after the steps up: Starting point also for Črna prst, across the road to Porezen1
Straight to Vrh Bače, we returned from the right.2

Along a really nice mulattiera (not looking marked, but it should be) back to the second picture, then to coffee.13

There was enough snow for bigger pleasures too. Once we got stuck towards Možic (mistake), under Lajnar nice ski down both sides. Couple cm windblown dry on hard base. Dravh and Slatnik also skiable, but still quite some fern and grass sticking out. Practically no rocks. nasmeh

This year besides Zvoh so far second ski tour over summits of Soriska Planina mountains.
Snow for comfortable skiing way too little, moreover unprocessed without base. But enough for carefree walking with skis, building fitness and some descent on own track.Hikers will get plenty nice pleasures from surrounding hills and to Možic they'll get nicely tired trampling individual snow patches.Southern side path of Slatnik I advise against, because at places annoying narrowings with steep and loaded avalanche snow, patches, slight crust, below frozen grass.Slatnik ridge partly windblown and accessible, intermediate path through gully plenty snowy.Paths only slightly trodden.More description from tour on TK-gora.Lp!nasmeh

From Petrovo Brdo steeply uphill along the mountain path to the hunters' hut at Kovci. Here we turn right and uphill towards Lajnar. An unmarked path tempts us to the hunters' blind. From there follows steep pathless terrain along the south ridge to Lajnar. At the summit and further over Slatnik, Možica and Šavnik the east wind blows strongly. We descend to Vrh Bače and to Bača near Podbrdo. Some pathless terrain follows and along the gravel road under Kup back to Petrovo Brdo. Path without special features, all nicely marked and passable.
In this direction, but via detour along the ridge above Soriska planina1

26.5.2021. By train from Nova Gorica to Podbrdo. Then path under feet over Petrovo Brdo to Lajnar. First summit. Tour of barracks. Path was locally harder passable due to trees on path. No more snow here. Now snowdrops and daffodils in full bloom. Continued to Možic. And past barracks where they have sheep, to top of Slatnik. From there along ridge path, where we went first time to Bačarsko sedlo. From Slatnik two paths to saddle. I remember this year Marijan and I turned exactly on this path from Bačarsko sedlo under Slatnar due to too much snow. On Wednesday no such problems. Quite interesting panoramic this ridge one. Not marked. Above hunters hut at Bačarsko sedlo we viewed another cavern, best preserved of all. And found border stone from far times. Still stands as marker and reminder. Descended circular to Podbrdo, where we waited for train. 20 km walk accumulated.

So I don't open a new topic. Yesterday 2.6.2021 we walked an interesting tour. Not much elevation. It came to 20 km. Again by train from Nova Gorica to Podbrdo. The passenger train was pulled by a diesel locomotive this time. And started a bit before seven from Podbrdo to Vrh Bače. We had a local with us. He used to live here in his young years. Continued to the village Nemški Rovt on the Bohinj side. The path was marked as Juliana trail. Also across the meadow below, although Marijan had drawn more to the right along the meadow. And arrived in Bohinjska Bistrica. Then went through probably the longest tunnel 6.3 km long to Podbrdo for the train. The tunnel is quite wide and spacious. I didn't imagine it. They say they planned to build another track but it didn't happen. Almost two hours walking in the dark only with lights. And when you come to the light you need some time to get used to the light. Water flows below, during rain it probably floods sometimes. That's why they advised us to wait until the rain passes.

On Saturday six girls walked an easy tour from Soriska planina to Lajnar, Slatnik and Možic. How nice such easy strolling in the sea of grass. Some blueberries already, but better to wait a bit more. Flowers plenty, from gentians to Turkish carnations...Good to move away from the most crowded spots and heat, on Soriska planina pleasant temperature, just the right number of people. On weekends and holidays very convenient bus from Ljubljana via Soriska planina to Bohinj, until end of August, works great. Views from Porezen to Triglav, Rjavina and Bohinj lake. Cable car working, bike path, camp, new guesthouse Lajnar...pleasant and nice.

Today in family lineup we "hopped" on a trip to Sorica (Grohar,...), stopped and admired the artworks on rocks a bit above Zgornja Sorica and did a short ascent to Lajnar from the ski slope base. The path is not marked in places, but you can't miss it. Almost no wind, but mists were racing, so no view of the peaks. On the other hand, the play of shadows, clouds and individual sun rays created wonderful scenes towards Baška grapa and surroundings.

Next time when time allows, we'll do a circular one around all nearby peaks!
