Please help if anyone else has had a similar experience to mine. I've been hiking mountains for a year and never had leg issues, but now twice after about 5 km ascent pain starts from groin down the leg and at the end pain so intense I can barely move legs. At home pain lasts another 2 days, then ok. What is it? Afraid I'll get stuck somewhere  :... Thanks for answers, Zala

I would first turn to some physiotherapist, sports doctor, only then to a general doctor. And give him a bit more data. Does it hurt on both sides or one? Any other changes (gained weight, lost weight, started training / exercising something, sitting more than before)....? Does it happen to you in cold months or also in summer? In women hormonal contraception sometimes brews many things...

First it hurt only on one side, second time already on both...no changes except I've been taking contraceptive pills for 3 months. This happened to me 2x now when it's cold, but I'm dressed warmly enough... Worst pain is when lifting leg so when going uphill, downhill a bit easier.

I don't want to scare you, but I think it's worth mentioning. A friend had similar issues, over time it got worse, couldn't even walk flat almost, and in the end they found narrowing of veins in the groin. After surgery, inserted some inserts that widen veins, problems gone instantly and now happily hiking flat and uphill again. Consult your doctor, think best to start there (him/her).
