T 24 means completing 10 Tržič peaks in one day. In 1999 the first competition was organized. At the start there was only a handful of competitors. All 10 peaks had to be conquered, but using only marked paths was not a requirement. The time limit was 24 hours. Everyone chose their own shortcuts, and each participant had to handle their own food and drink logistics. Start and finish in Tržič. From Tržič to Dobrča, Begunjščica, Vrtača, Košutica, Veliki vrh, Kladivo, Košutnikov turn, Stegovnik, Storžič, Tolsti vrh, Tržič. Divided into 3/3. 1/3 Tržič-Ljubelj, 2/3 Ljubelj-Dolga njiva, 3/3 Dolga njiva-Tržič. The route hasn't been officially measured yet. It's estimated at 75-80km and approx 5500m total ascent. In 2001 the competition was organized for the last time. Aleš Rozman won with 15h 13min. This phenomenal record still stands today. Klemen Triler, an excellent mountain runner and ski tourer, also competed in this event. His best time was 17h 52min. He wanted to hike or run this route again someday. He decided to repeat it on Saturday 09.10 and invited me along, knowing I wanted to "process" this route as I'd asked him several times about shortcuts. We started at 03:04 in Tržič and after 17 hours and 47 minutes finished the wild and magnificent route. Thanks to Uroš Feldin who brought us macaroni at Ljubelj and accompanied us to Košutica. Thanks to Klemen's wife and daughters who brought food and drink to Dolge njive. And to Luka Mihelič who accompanied us on the last third of the route. Most grateful to Klemen for taking me along. He's convinced he could improve the record without much trouble, and I can confirm that. He's really excellent. Best regards Jure - Cveto
