VERIŠE 917m, SRNJEK 1038m, KURICA 930m I've kept a sheet with the trip description for nine years, which was published on Gore-ljudje, namely Srnjek above Završnica. Already upon first reading it seemed sympathetic to me, but the path description seemed a bit complicated, so the sheet lay in the drawer for years. But new interests appeared in these parts and yesterday we set off on this adventure to discover these peaks. And nothing was known in advance whether anything would succeed or not. We said, let's go explore . First we went to the little hut, past which a cool stream flows, whose waters pour into the waterfall under Gozdašnica. There I already noticed a cart track last time, which suggested it might be the right one for our discoveries. And indeed it first led us a short way off it to a small ridge leading towards Veriše, which rise with quite massive walls from the Završnica side towards the top. They also end from the side with several cliffs, and we stepped onto one of them on the return and that was the nicest part of the trip. Then we continued in the opposite direction towards Srnjek, which was the main goal. In between we crossed a stream leading down to the Šum waterfall and continued on a really poor little path upwards towards Srnjek. In between we unintentionally scared a chamois, and at the top we surprisingly found out how much had been dug up by boars, and it seemed quite fresh. So we didn't stay up there very long. We returned the same way, as we didn't notice any other hunting paths. On the return we also climbed Kurica, which I thought was inaccessible, since no real information could be found. But again a faint path was found, which quite steeply led to a small ridge overgrown with pines, but in the gaps between them views reached even to Triglav, and the lake in Završnica sparkled too. But we stayed longest on the overgrown rocky cliff below the Veriš peak, On the way back we wanted to find the turn-off to the Šum waterfall or Waterfall under Kurica, which we missed on Saturday. Well, when we found it, we climbed up to it too and we really weren't disappointed. It's a really nice feeling realizing you've visited areas about which nothing is written and you really don't read anything. And that's exactly how you really discover the world . Of course we didn't meet anyone on the path.
