Saturday, 19.12.2020 - cycling outing

The marsh is long and wide, can be deep too. And wonderful in its naturalness. Winter might really not be the best time for a visit if you want observations and encounters with wildlife. But if solitude is what the soul craves, it will surely find its peace here.

Today's outing was a kind of get-to-know day with the marsh; I planned it so that I more or less circled it. I also cycled a bit inside the park and was thrilled by the pristine nature, silence, solitude... From the city I rode to Rudnik, continued to Lavrica and there headed towards Babna Gorica and the park itself a bit further. In the park I chose roads by feel, continued on them, took a break and then successfully found the way to Ižanska road and continuation towards Matena. Followed Tomišelj, Jezero with Podpeško Lake, Notranje and Vnanje Gorice and I was already in Ljubljana. Although there was already quite a long route behind me, I hadn't tired of pedaling yet, so I extended the return home by winding through the capital.

The marsh is wonderful for both walking and cycling outings. Starting points are in villages on the park's edge, so everyone can easily choose the length of such an outing. Part of the Slovenian Writers' Trail also runs through the marsh ( https://drustvo-dsp.si/slovenska-pisateljska-pot/ )

Thanks, Majda. You're right, we forget the here and now too often, at least for me. Often I'm in memories and plans, i.e., wishes; I almost don't notice the moment I'm in. Mountains were, are and will be; we'll be patient a bit more and we'll be there again nasmeh

Oh Dr.ejči, nice greeting. In spring, at the latest, I'll be back there. A bunch of new goals, say Kurešček and Krim, then Mokrc and more nasmeh

Saturday, 30.1.2021 - cycling outing

Due to thaw and resulting mud, this time I didn't go onto the Marsh, but cycled around it. Approximately. From home through the city, then along Ižanka to the turnoff for Črna vas and on to Podpeško Lake. Foggy, had to wipe my glasses to see anything, so much moisture. Short break at the lake and watching divers searching for mines on the lake bottom. Then on to Borovnica, Bistra, Verda and Vrhnika, where I said goodbye to the Marsh. Instead of cycling along its edge through Brezovica to Dolgi most, I continued towards Horjul and from there through Dobrovo back home. Great cycling outing in not so great weather. Also long, how long it would have been if the sun shone, sadly I'll never know velik nasmeh
