Together with nature, mountain biking is also awakening, so today I make use of the ideal weather with a circular tour to Katarina.
From Ljubljana I head via Medno to Sora, then to Ločnica via Legastje to Katarina pass. On the way through the valley it was quite cold with still lots of snow on the north side. The ascent strongly reminded me of the late spring rush to Vršič. The road was dry here, on the return via Toško čelo it was ice, which turned into slush in places on the sunny slopes. The rating was spot on this time for the ascent to Katarina from the opposite direction, since downhill on ice is much easier. I really enjoyed riding part of the trail still on snowy-icy, and the cherry on top was Jože at Toško čelo, who was also enjoying his jump ramp Gače. He says it was good until 11am, then the thaw started. velik nasmeh

Bravo! Obviously quite a few of us took advantage of the nice weather today and dragged our bikes up the mountain! velik nasmeh

And I can also say that cycling today was a pleasure. nasmeh

Late afternoon I rode from home on my bike towards Medno to do some flat loop tour, then Ločnica and the saddle Topol - Katarina tempted me.
Just with cap and water bottle I was rushing towards the goal.
Ločnica was full of visitors with the Osovnik parking fully occupied, on the saddle Katarina the Sunday lunchers had already ridden to the valley. Before that in Trnovec by the stream I picked wild medicinal Čemaž and stuffed it into my pocket. Up at the monument I sat a bit in the sun, which was the only thing slightly warming the cold air, then the final descent over Toško čelo to the Lj. basin.
The tour was very nice and especially good for my smoked lungs from smoking and flexing, there was enough fitness nasmeh

I dragged this home for some good cottage cheese-wild garlic spread.

In the afternoon the sun had already weakened in power, so around 17h I started from home, rode to Sora, there turned into the cool 8 km long Ločnica valley. At Legastja kids outside ate what looked like very good ice cream, they have there also other good desserts and lunches at reasonable prices. Well, for me only an isotonic drink went down well then. There were quite a few cyclists with specialkas, all complaining during the ride that it was muggy. I rode my own pace, so no suffering from the heat, even a cool breeze blowing down the valley, real wonder of nature! A bit before Topol saddle I extended the tour left to Brezovica under Jakoba, then rush to Toško čelo home. Tour about 35 km and I recommend it as a cool tour to everyone. No pics, Lp! nasmeh

Afternoon MTB loop with still warm sun, to Sora headwind from north, on Katarina more from west, with growing clouds from there, mountains still too little snow for skiing, except Krvavec. nasmeh

Saturday, 10.4.2021 (bike outing)

To Sora warming up, then leisurely through the valley to Legastje, there I hit the gas, sorry, pedal hard, and more or less in an hour tackle the shamelessly steep climb to Topol. At the school I catch my breath a bit, at the intersection I take a run-up and as if by joke handle the last, steepest climb to the church and rectory. That was the end of the first stage. Some rest, physical and mental, the latter for memories and wishes as usual, in between a snack and something to drink. To the end of the second stage, Toško čelo, it flew like a shot, if I dared and if there wasn't quite some foot and car traffic on the road, it could definitely be faster. I didn't go up to the hut because of the crowd, instead hurried to the inn, from which a great descent began, lasting all the way to Podutik, probably could go to the highway without pedaling if no traffic and no red light. A bit here and there on city streets and I was home. Short and sweet, flat and summery nasmeh
