Loško-Zbelovska hiking trail

Practically just a stone's throw from my home, a 21-kilometer long circular Loško-Zbelovska hiking trail runs at half-marathon distance, which is a kind of cross-section of the world between Loče and Zbelovo. I know some parts of the trail and will need to venture onto the entire circular route in the future... GPS:Loško-Zbelovska hiking trail/Ljubično section, 13.01.2012 This afternoon easy hiking on Friday the 13th in January 2012 on the extreme eastern part of the Loško-Zbelovska hiking trail, which leads from Podpeč ob Dravinji (bridge over Dravinja at ,,velbah,,) via Ljubična to the church of St. Mary, Mother of God on Ljubično 533 m.a.s.l. and then continuing descent by the cross at ,,Marijinih stopinjah,, into the valley or Zbelovska gora settlement - to the underpass under the Maribor-Celje railway line, where the Loško-Zbelovska hiking trail then continues westward... Conditions for walking more than excellent, surprisingly diverse and varied forest-stone world marks this part of the trail especially on the section below the cross...In the near future probably continuing the entire circular trail...

Interesting trail, nice photos, maybe I'll cross it in the future. I also checked this trail on Garmin, super, what all data you have up there. Nice regards! Lajči

At temperatures deep below zero and snowing, today I hiked half of the Loško - Zbelovska mountain trail. I crossed half today from Zbelovska gora to the settlement Penoje & Mlače, which was the most logical choice, and added exceptionally today a loop to Zbelovski castle from Zbelovo, which is otherwise not part of the Loško - Zbelovska mountain trail. Route:Loško - zbelovska mountain trail, 06.02.2012 The snow has nevertheless made the trail somewhat more demanding, especially the descent from Ljubično to the plain - settlement Zbelovska gora required a somewhat more concrete careful step. I estimated about 600 meters of elevation for today and there were that many... The highest point of the trail today was Ljubično between the church and the footprints or rather the cross... I didn't meet anyone, whom I otherwise would have in such impossible weather... Today I also corrected the mistake I ,,committed,, while hiking the full trail. Today I correctly descended to settlement Zbelovo along the line over the field and small bridge, while last time I made a somewhat longer ,,detour,, by the silos of commodity reserves of the Republic of Slovenia. Regards, bruny

Along the eastern half of the Loško - Zbelovska mountain trail and this time in the opposite direction to the official one = Podpeč - Zbelovo - Mlače and trail section through the settlement Penoje - Zbelovska gora - Ljubično - Podpeč. Route:LZPP, 23.02.2012 Ascent to Ljubično from Zbelovska gora is much steeper compared to the ascent from the Podpeč settlement, direct and among rocks for this altitude quite varied in the middle part. Trail partly snowy & partly dry in windless conditions.

Hiking the entire Loško-Zbelovska mountain trail on the last day of October with colleague Vinko from PD Poljčane and that from starting point at the bridge over the Dravinja river in Ljubično settlement. We joined the trail via ,,Ocvirk,, by the chapel of St. Hubert below the Ljubična summit and at the end still ascent to Zbelovo castle, which is not part of the LZPp trail and repeated descent under the chapel via Ocvirk back to the starting point... Terrain partially snowy, at times quite cold northeast wind... and also quite a bit of fallen trees between the Črešnar & Krošl farms on the western part of today's activity made fast progress impossible.

Bruny, how does the official LZP route go? If I understand correctly, the start is in Loče, but in which direction do you start from Loče?

Thanks for the question. Start is in Loče at the tourist farm Lopan in the very center and then the trail continues towards the tourist society home at Mlače, Zbelovo, Ljubična...More info at Source Loško-Zbelovska hiking trail. Terrain on the trail very diverse and Ljubično is quite the world of Konjiška gora, Boč or Donačka gora in miniature despite relatively low elevation. Near the mentioned Loče, other good starting points are Mlače, Zbelovo and Podpeč (at velbah). The trail is also an excellent link between Konjiška gora and Boč for longer activities in the area. Best regards

With a friend today we walked a bit on our adapted Loško-Zbelovska trail and again discovered a wonderful little piece of our beautiful country. Start at the excursion farm Lopan in Loče, where we started following the markers. Soon we realized they were leading us in the opposite direction of the circular trail's official direction. No problem, in the end we conclude that this loop starting towards Klokočovnik is just fine. At the beginning of the trail we definitely hurried too much and thus missed the junction to the ridge above the Klokočovnik stream valley. We just continued along the road by the stream and rejoined the marked direction at the Krošel farm. Continuation partly on forest road, partly on asphalt, along scenic ridges through stretched-out villages Veliki and Mali Lipoglav, Zbelovska gora, descent to the passage under the railway line, continuation to the junction of the steep path to Ljubična. From the top short descent to the prominent Marija church on Ljubično. Gentler descent to Podpeč and continuation to Zbelovo. Here we left the marked trail and returned to the starting point in Loče via road through Mlače. The circular trail goes quite a bit on roads, which suited us today due to the wet terrain. Nicely marked with knafelj markers, which sometimes have added letter »L«, at major junctions there are also red signs with Loško-Zbelovska trail. We also used the Posavsko hribovje map (Boč-Bohor), where the trail is drawn with a red line. On the trail we were good 6 hours, with short stops, lots of photo-taking, a bit of searching direction and asking locals … when discovering new places it's not worth rushing.

Thanks for the congratulations. Without the internet and diligent writers who share descriptions of their home areas, I would know my homeland very poorly. This way on foot is the nicest way to discover new places.

Today somehow in the style of the saying ,,Know poet your duty,, which was an association in the style of ,,Know hiker your duty,,....and so after afternoon showers towards evening with work tool - bike to Loče near Poljčane mainly because of the ,,third lap,, 2.27 km long in which I ,,correctly completed,, part of Loško-Zbelovska mountain trail between Loče center and the locals' home Mlače, which was missing in my hiking variants of course because of ,,inn automatics & shortcuts,, - from Loče center therefore towards the car dump and continuing to the locals' home Mlače... Track:Loško-Zbelovska hiking trail/part Loče-Mlače,26.05.2013 Correct track leads in the initial part from Loče center/roundabout towards St. Jernej and then right by the Comet factory and orchards somewhat uphill. Some small elevation gain, maybe a kilometer more and of course path in quieter part above Loče. On return to Poljčane still a jump under Dravinjske gorice & Boč for pleasant end of the miniature. But it's unusual that end of May you practically need ,,winter boots,, for the bike...

From starting point Podpeč ob Dravinji today to Lovsko/mountain hut Loče at Klokočovnik. Fog marked this trail and dew as a result of fog...Pleasant varied path. The hut was closed. Probably open occasionally and probably still partially under construction. Entry in the mountain logbook, quite a few entries and return back to Podpeč. Easy track, unfortunately asphalt predominates. Despite fog it was pleasant... Trail track:Podpeč ob Dravinji - Lovsko/mountain hut Loče at Klokočovnik and back, 29.11.2014

I don't know!! I have the feeling that some walk/run/cycle...just for collecting stamps and subsequently badges...But it's nice even without ,,stamping,, logbooks...Years ago, when daughter and son were still ,,kindergartners,, and elementary schoolers we also collected stamps...but today it doesn't interest me much anymore. Everyone walks on paths with their own wishes and that's right. It's true that they are often missing, stolen, locked and similar...Lp and happy steps! Yes, if I go to Šentilj trail again sometime, maybe I'll collect them...Lp

Late afternoon in rain, fog, also some wind from Podpeči along Dravinja short hiking snapshot on Loško - Zbelovska mountain trail...Three points planned before departure in Ljubična area...Vučajnkov cross, St. Hubertus Chapel and junction with mountain trail Through wine hills. Hubertus chapel is directly by the trail while to cross and junction with mountain trail short extension done for ,,Ypsilon,, trail shape. In bad weather, but weather always is, I met no one...Relatively short but still pleasant in partly autumn colors on Ljubična part directly above right bank of Dravinja... LZP/part of Ljubična area, 13.10.2015 Lp
