I also had some low shoe from Asolo - it fell apart very quickly. I also had popular FiveTen Camp 4 a few years ago (that red shoe - all the studs stayed pink...), which had a very hard upper edge that kept hurting my leg above the ankle. When that edge softened, the shoe basically fell apart.
Since then I only look at Scarpa and lately La Sportiva (as for climbing shoes - La Sportiva is the best anyway).

Five Ten Camp 4 were top shoes for me, only the sole wore out quite quickly. Unfortunately they're not available anymore. If I understood correctly Adidas bought FiveTen company and then stopped making certain (or all) hiking models, to push their Terrex line further. I don't know if it worked, given that most people I know are now on La Sportiva
