Luknja Gorge

This morning I went on a short trip to Luknja gorge. We get there from Begunje on Gorenjska and drive to Draga past the ruins of Kamen castle, past the memorials of hostages shot during WWII to the guesthouse in Draga. Up to here it's asphalt. Further a gravel road leads to two pastures. Here it is advisable to leave cars. Then on foot along the gravel road to the junction for Prevala pasture via Luknja. It is marked. This is the so-called shepherd path. Right after the junction we cross the stream. Along the stream a marked path goes through Luknja. Before Luknja the stream makes nice waterfalls. Through Luknja steel cables and steps lead us. Luknja ends quickly and the path goes on to Prevali pasture. This walk takes just over an hour and a half. We just stroll by the clear stream and feel the mountains in this wonderful spot.

Luknja Gorge To the left of this secured passage the stream has carved its path and created beautiful waterfalls. Here you have to descend into the bed.15
Luknja Gorge To this shot, as mentioned, descend into the bed and climb a bit along it to these falls. Up close they are magnificent.16
