It's an archaeological site on a small hill with a view deep down to the Gulf of Trieste. My colleague and I visited it during a tour on Tiger's Path. We got there after a one-hour walk from Beka village. We turned from the asphalt road onto macadam. We walked this macadam for more than one hour. This karst overgrown world along the road is protected with wire on both sides. Only on one non-overgrown bare clearing a herd of horses was grazing. After one hour we came across Knafelc's markers, which directed to a slight overgrown hillock. Before the hillock there was non-overgrown land and deep down we spotted the Gulf of Trieste. On the hill we found ruins of the Mali Kras hillfort. There are lots of ruins. I counted more than ten objects. I don't know the exact origin. On this terrain during WWI there was a military observation post. They could observe the entire Gulf of Trieste. On some wall of a former quite large object there is even a stamp and next to it even a box for entries. I really didn't expect we would see the whole sea.
Mali Kras This was our main goal that day. After returning, we headed on a hike through the karst maquis.1
Mali Kras We walked for more than an hour through beautiful karst maquis on what I'd call a beautiful forest road.2
Mali Kras From these red signs, which had no indications where the path leads.3
Mali Kras The signs showed the path to the hillock.4
Mali Kras Before the hillock there was an open area and the view opened to Tržaški zaliv.5
