Mariborsko Pohorje - Ski Touring

At least up to half the path you have to walk, as there is not enough snow. Then to the top no problem for touring skis. Otherwise the groomed track is only at the top on the ridge, elsewhere not yet.

Well it's not exactly Mariborsko Pohorje, but it's Pohorje.
Since obviously this year there's nothing with groomed ski slopes, I'll focus more on touring.
Wondering if anyone has gone from Ribniske to Kop, and down Kastivnik?
We toured on Kastivnik, the rest nothing.

Already many times, and not only from Ribniška but also from Rogle and also from Areh and MB Belevuja. But longer routes are much more suitable for cross-country skis or if no groomed ski track for backcountry .... But everything goes mainly as long as there's snow and something is happening.

hi. Wondering if any touring skier here has encountered or knows this concept. It's a hybrid between snowshoe and ski with integrated skin; I think such skis would be very suitable for various wanderings type Pohorje, Pokljuka, or hills of hermetically closed Ljubljana municipality..

Ah tons of these various variants each has its good and bad properties and higher or lower price. Principally useful, but needs sufficient snow too, which lately so-so, I prefer decades proven Fischer S-bound width ca 90 and length 178 with edges and stick on as needed half-cut used touring skins, magnum bindings and suitable boots, plus some Salomon ca 170cm and with skins can push into all Pohorje undergrowth, and also ski slope to valley if not too icy...

how much grip uphill do such skis with notches below? is it better only on flat, or also somewhere steeper

I've been using short 99 cm long skis with "made at home" binding additions allowing heel lift for ca. 20 years. The skis are cheap, you can use normal alpine boots. The only thing you still have to buy are skins. They are usually 2 m in length and enough for two pairs of skis. I usually fix them front and back with straps. Does anyone know how the conditions are on Piskru? Will this weekend be suitable for touring up and down?
