Marmarole - Croda Bianca 2841m, Spigolo Fanton route

For the first day of vacation we headed to this peak. We started the tour at 1800m a bit further from Ex Rifugio Maramarole. A very narrow road leads here with one-way traffic during the day. Up in the morning, down in the afternoon, but surprises are also possible. We had quite a bit of reversing due to meetings the next day in the morning.

From the starting point we continued to the Baion hut and further along path 262 to the valley towards Forcella Peronat. From the hut and further along the path the approach gully and ridge to the summit can already be seen nicely.

At the end of the gully, which took us 3 hours, the nicer part of the tour begins. The ridge is 600 vertical meters, difficulty up to grade III, the passages are nice, there are enough cairns. We did the first half free, then we roped up. The ridge also took 3 hours.

At the top a well-deserved rest and enjoying the views. For the descent we returned back to the pre-summit (approx. 50 vertical meters) and descended on rubble-covered ledges towards NW in the direction of Forcella Marmarole and bivouac Fratelli Fanton.

Cimon del Froppa was also planned for that day but we skip it because the bivouac was completely full. After calling the Baion hut, where after some persuasion we get beds, we set off along the rather ugly Valon del Fropa gully to the marked path and towards the hut.
