MARTIN'S TRAIL

This time thanks to the excellent guide Uroš from Ptuj we combined two trails. First we walked Pliskina trail for a start, which is named after a sheep and runs in the Pliskovice area. The trail is easy, circular, educational.
From Pliskovice we drove to Opatje Selo, where we were at the official opening of Martin's Trail. The project lasted 20 years, now finally a connected trail from Hungary, through Slovenia and Italy to France. After the cultural program we headed on the trail to Lokvica and Kostanjevica on the Karst. We also went past Borojević's throne, a memorial marker to Romanian soldiers from WWI. We also nicely saw the trail from Trstelj over 10 peaks to Cerje, which we have already walked. Then festive conclusion in Kostanjevica on the Karst, excellent catering by six municipalities that collaborated on the organization....thanks to Uroš and the whole team. We'll come again during the autumn rut.
