Yesterday I set off towards the Dolga Njiva alpine pasture. I parked at the parking lot in Medvodje and first took the road, which is still dry quite high up, about a kilometer further from the intersection at Košutnik. On the road, markers are hardly noticeable, the marked shortcut that bypasses some road bends is well marked. I reached the first snow on the road on the aforementioned section above Košutnik - at about 1150 m.a.s.l. - but up to the Pod Krnico parking lot there are still many dry sections on it. From there on, there are no more 'holes', on the shady ascent through the forest to the edge of the pasture the snow was quite hard, on the pasture area it was just right for walking, for skiing of course Initially I planned to visit the ridge towards Mali Košuti, but the sight of a nice stretch of green ridge below Tolsta Košuta redirected me towards the slopes of that mountain. The sun softened its southern slopes by eleven o'clock to such an extent that I could head up the steep slope (along the usual approach path to this mountain) to the ridge without crampons and ice axe; both would undoubtedly be needed for the continuation to the summit - despite favorable conditions and what appeared to be mostly dry path, where I noticed some hikers. Later from the road I also noticed the visited summit of Košutnikov Turn. I ended my ascent on the grasses of the ridge by the border fence and enjoyed the sun and views - including the nearby Meli Košuta (I assume this name refers to the area with characteristic crumbly rock on the eastern and northern side of Tolsta Košuta and not the mountain Mali Košuta). On the way back to the pasture, due to the steepness, I descended transversely instead, and I kept the microspikes on the steeper parts - because of the aforementioned hard base in the forest below the pasture - all the way to the Pod Krnico parking lot. On the pasture area I met quite a few skiers and hikers, even some day-trippers (judging by footwear), and on the road I also ran into a mountain biker. Quite lively for this time The road, still frozen in the morning, turns into a 'mud pit' at several places during the day, a visit to the car wash after visiting these parts is quite handy
